🏴🏌️150th Open at St Andrews. I was one of the many people who got to be a part of building a gazillion walls, bars, pillars and so on for this prestigious event. Plenty to build in a short space of time and what I saw was only a fraction of the overall project... A truly massive effort from everyone involved. This workshop was created from scratch. The walls were built, plastered, and aged with a muddy, watery paint mix. I borrowed a tool bench from a woodworker and just about everything else pictured here was my Dad's. His level. His tools. His toolboxes and his famous black stool that has been around my whole life. // This was shot for a window manufacturer to show craftsmanship. Are craftsmen or craftspeople messy? Are creatives messy? Yes. At least in my world, creatives are messy. I'm messy, and then, I'm neat, and then perfectly organized. It just depends on the day. // In this shot I created the mess. And then, in reality, I cleaned it all up. This set was torn down and the tools returned to my Dad. Decades later his tools were given away and the famous stool came to my house. It's older than me, and somehow that gives me comfort.
