sometimes I imagine myself recording one of those geography videos playing Seterra maps but then I realize that it would be really really boring because the only interesting videos are people getting it hilariously wrong or speed running it without mistakes and I'm like. mostly competent except for a couple countries.

Introducing... Seterra

When every citizen of the Raskamsen Empire comes of age, they must make a promise to obey the Crown, protect the Crown, and worship the Crown. If they break this oath, they will be indubitably incarcerated, more likely executed in cruel, sinister, and gruesome ways.

For Empaths—people with the Power that lets them sense others’ emotions—just being alive guarantees a death sentence. After Melitta and four other members of the resistance movement are caught and sent to a high security prison, they are discovered to be Empaths, and sent to the Forest. Not as banishment, but as an execution. Because no one leaves the Forest alive. 

But they don’t die. Not right away. And suddenly a hopeless situation has a little bit of hope, which leads them to discover a secret that the Empire has been hiding for centuries. But to survive long enough to get the information back to TRATNO, they have to learn to trust each other, something none of them are very good at.

World building of Seterra: What is an Empath?

Short Answer: Empaths can read exactly what other people are feeling. 

Long Answer: They can do a lot more than just that. But most of them don’t know. The Raskamsen Empire has been going strong for nearly six-hundred years, and during the third emperor’s reign, the whole Empire nearly collapsed due to a miscalculated friendship with an Empath. Afterwards, all books on Empaths were burned and destroyed and all Empaths themselves were executed. 

The Empaths around now aren’t trained on how to properly use their abilities to their extent because no one really knows how at all. The most they know is sensing what others are feeling and seeing their auras. Beyond that, it’s a ~mystery~

However, there are rumors of secret institutions teaching Empaths how to use their powers, mostly just outside of the Empire. 

The Raskamsen Empire hates Empaths primarily out of fear. How could the Emperors ever trust anyone that can read them like a book? They decided they couldn’t. 

Empaths also have a deep connection to nature. Ironic that so many are sent to their deaths in the Forest.

Sometimes having adhd is so weird. Like what do you mean I cried because they updated an app I use to memorize countries and capitals and now it looks weird.

i've been playing these seterra map quizzes while at work (its a desk job so i've also been playing rummy and canasta) but it is so nice to refresh my geography. i swear i have every non island country down, although there are many countries that the quizzes don't include

im using seterra and memorizing geography completely. thats this week’s project.

i did europe which was super easy and now im on asia which is a bit harder. next i’ll do africa.
