KanoSeto Day: Headcanons!

[Mmm in the end I decided to share some headcanons/thoughts about Kano and Seto’s relationship. Most of them are platonic (maybe even all of them), but you can interpret them however you want :)]

- when they were still going to school Kano would think about positive stuff (dogs, nature etc.) and encouraging words, so Seto could read his mind any time he would need to feel better

- In the fifth novel it was said that Kido startled them both when she suddenly appeared when they were talking about “stuff”. I’m sure that since then they kept their conversations more private aka through Seto just reading Kano’s mind (it was always more of Kano talking and Seto nodding from time to time anyway).

- as a kid, when he still couldn’t quite control his powers, Seto would be very wary of inviding Kano’s privacy (even though that was practically their most common way of communicating, Seto could sometimes see some flashes of Kano’s thoughts/memories that he knew, again, somewhat ironically thanks to being a frequent visitor to his mind, Kano doesn’t want anyone to know)

- which is why after gaining control over them he stopped reading Kano’s mind without previous clear permission to do so (he did this with everyone though, really)

- but as much as Kano himself was wary of Seto finding out something he shouldn’t, he was already used to him reading his mind and secretly wished for him to do it again and put the weight off his shoulders

- despite Seto being so mature now, he still sees Kano as his big bro

- Kano admires how strong and mature Seto has grown, while Seto still admires Kano for everything he has done for him and Kido

- Seto is also one of the few persons that knows Kano’s truth self and probably the only one that acts accordingly to it around others. To them the contrast between how Kano behaves and with how much… seriousness Seto treats him can be too weird sometimes.

- I don’t know if it was said anywhere, but I’m pretty sure Kano and Seto shared the room when they were living with Tateyama’s. I’m also pretty sure that the first night there they shared bed. Seto being in the new environment needed some sort of comfort ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . He would also spend the whole night worring about Kido, because “she doesn’t have anyone to sleep with tonight and how else can she deal with today’s stress??”, but Kano internally is just like “I’m more worried about you now.”

- Seto trying to get Kano to the zoo, so he can learn the look and smell of verious animals and then change to them (Kido strongly condemns turning into giraffe in the house though- for which Kano is actually grateful)

- especially in the winter when nature is asleep and Seto misses his animal friends! (he’d also partially would do it for Mary ;))
