Could you write some headcanons about a girl who was raised all her life as an apprentice in the Mysterious Tower trying to make friends with the seven guardians and co? (Not the same anon from the Riku and Lea HCs, just have a similar concept!) Much thanks in advance!!
Oooh, yes, I love this idea (and I absolutely adored the headcanons Lucky did for that other Nonnie)! I had a lot of fun with this setting, Nonnie, so thank you so much for sending it in!
(You’ll see why I chose this gif afterwards.)
**An Apprentice in Friendship**
-Being raised by Yen Sid and the Good Fairies all your life, while great for your manners and magic, was not exactly conducive to making friends. You loved them with all your heart, but there was always a sense of disconnect. At the end of the day they were your family, but they were also your masters.
-The first time Sora came to the Mysterious Tower, you were in the middle of training with the Good Fairies, and even though you begged (and they got to go give Sora his new clothes), you weren’t dismissed from your lesson to go meet him. Little did you know, that wouldn’t be the last time he visited the tower.
-The next time he came to the tower, he was accompanied by his friends, two you’d seen before, and one you hadn’t. And still, the Good Fairies wouldn’t let you interrupt. You understood the importance of the Mark of Mastery, but more than anything, you wanted some friends your own age. It was during that exam that you vowed to find a way to make yourself useful so that there could be no more excuses for you not to meet them.
-You offered, or well, insisted that you could fetch the books Master Yen Sid wanted to show the two boys, even though all of you knew quite well that he could summon them with a wave of his hand — and had probably intended to. You still didn’t get to talk to them at that point, but at least now they knew you existed.
-After that, the Mysterious Tower suddenly became a lot more populated — besides Sora and Riku, there were now two vivacious redheads, Kairi and Lea. You went out of your way to make sure they were comfortable, bringing them food and water, and though you still didn’t get to see Sora and Riku much, you became fast friends with Kairi and Lea.
-At first, you didn’t understand their senses of humor, or how a lot of the comments they aimed at each other seemed mean, but were only met with laughter. You weren’t familiar with this kind of good natured teasing, and your first few attempts at joining in were… awkward to say the least.
-You also helped with their training, though you were not a fighter, you were able to show them some of the magic you had learned over the years. Kairi startled you with how fast she was to catch on to things, even if she’d still need some time to master the techniques. Lea had a singular penchant for fire magic, which was off-putting at first, but he proved to be a remarkable study as well.
-After a few weeks, you were finally able to meet everybody in one place, including two you had heard of, but never met, Aqua and Ventus. Though you didn’t get to know any of them very well in that moment, all of them were kind to you, and Sora even went out of his way to thank you for the time you had taken to help Kairi and Lea.
-It was far too soon that they all had to leave again, and for a short time it was quiet. Until Master Yen Sid interrupted your training with the Good Fairies and without explanation teleported the both of you to the middle of a battle. It didn’t take you long to realize what was going on, and you immediately jumped into action to help Master Yen Sid save your new friends.
-You didn’t get to see them after that battle and before they went back home, and while part of you was sad for that, the other part of you was happy and proud to know that out there in the world you had some truly amazing friends that you’d made all on your own.
