I AM SEVERELY INJURED AND INCAPABLE OF WORKING
hi everyone, so i hate that i have to make a post like this but I have officially hit a Very Rough Patch ™ and desperately need the help
7 weeks ago I got severely injured while working with a new client. My company sent me in with no support on only my second session to work with this higher behavior client, I did not yet have the proper training certification to work with a client with such high intensity behaviors. On top of that the home was not a safe environment to conduct a therapy session, and my supervisor knowing this, sent me into my second session alone with no support. SO during my second session I endured 2 hours and 45 minutes straight of severe physical aggression from a client.
This left me with a minor concussion, swelling and large bruising on my arms and legs, knee pain, severe back pain, and headaches as well. So get this, I get cleared a couple days later and sent back to work. 45 minutes of severe physical aggression again. More injuries to my head, neck, and knees. I visit the urgent care again and they clear me under restrictions on which clients I am able to work with. The doctor orders physical therapy to be done twice a week. I tried contacting my HR rep for TWO WEEKS before she responded to me, and only then could I start physical therapy.
Here I am, 7 weeks later, and the pain has only gotten increasingly worse. I have missed several days of work because the pain is too intense to sit or stand. The doctor put me on pain killers, but even with Vicodin I am still feeling severe pain. Yesterday I visited the urgent care for my follow up appointment and they have determined that because the pain has gotten increasingly worse, there may be something more serious going on and they have referred me to an Orthopedist. But because the pain has been so intense they has not cleared me to work for at lest the next two weeks until i see the orthopedist, so at this point I am essentially unemployed. I do not receive any compensation from my company for any of the work I miss and this is my only full time job. I have tried to contact my employer to see if they have work i can do from home, but they have continuously ignored my requests.
At this point I do not have another option but to ask for help. I am out of options as I am physically incapable of working due to my severe injuries. I have just moved to a new city and at this point I may not have the funds to afford my rent or food. Moving home is not an option as I would have to move in with my severely emotionally (at times, physically) abusive mother. My biological father has written me off, and despite him having $600 to pay for my brothers fraternity dues, he has turned me down multiple times when I have been homeless. My partner has picked up a second job, pushing him to nearly 60 hours a week to try and compensate but it is still not enough to carry my side of the bills. I hate turning to this but I have run out of options, and have to find a way to survive.
If anyone can help, even $5 would mean the world to me. I also understand many other people are financially struggling but if you at least reblog i would be so grateful.
