The thoughts you are having now was so me two months ago! I was watching this when the Red is Lizzy’s father reveal was already out there, and even then I was highly sceptical because rule #1 Red does not lie to Lizzy. Just wait till you get to the most recent season - total blast watching Red avoiding reacting to anything dad related that Liz says ��

I have to admit, I’ll be happy when this (4th season - currently at 412) angst-fest switches gears. I’m not looking forward to the Mr. Kaplan conclusion. I just want to wrap Red up in cotton wool and gently rock him...right after I’ve shaken some dang sense into him! Honestly, I can not possibly fathom the lengths that he goes to to keep Liz in the dark. **wry look** And poor Dembe. I’ve admitted to being spoiled but I don’t know if Dembe turns on Red and I SO scared he might. :-(

Dembe is an interesting case, especially if you look to him to gauge the importance of the secret. He keeps telling Red that he should tell Liz, questions why he’s not being entirely honest with her and outright asks Red why he can’t just tell her. To which Red responds “I don’t know”. Which makes you think, the truth can’t be deadly given that Dembe is always asking “why?” But it’s bad for Red because he thinks it’ll change his relationship with Liz once it’s revealed. He’s insecure about that.

Exactly! Except for 422 when Dembe says to Red “I'm not sure Elizabeth will ever be ready to learn about what you did to Katarina.” That kinda makes it sound like it will be life-altering. Also, that comment was tied to the suitcase since that’s the conversation they were having before Dembe said it. It’s all so frustrating because Liz and Red should be the central relationship (even if it’s not romantic) and they are further and further apart because they’re both acting like spoiled children that want their own way.

I too binged most of Blacklist over the Christmas break so I know where you’re coming from, and I too started to dislike Liz at exactly the same points as you. Although I’ve never seen the show through her eyes because I’m not as emotionally volatile as she is. So I actually find it hard to relate to a character like that. And unlike Liz I would be absolutely stunned by someone laying down their like for me time and time again….so yeah. Kind of hard to see anything through her eyes.

Yeah, she’s behaving a bit like a tantrum-throwing toddler - it’s no wonder so many in the fandom are making Daddygate comments when she’s behaving like a child. But to be fair, Red is too. Seriously, can’t we just lock them in a closet together? I mean, I did read a fanfic like that that was brilliant. LOL.
