Stargate: Atlantis; Evan Lorne
Word Count: 1013
(T)W: Being lifted against your will.
Request: Yes. “I was wondering if you could do an Major Lorne imagine or Fanfic. Set in Atlantis but can have a cameo of SG1 💁🏼♀️
Where reader/Yn is an archeologist (like Jackson) has a PHD and they meet one day and it’s a hint of what could be, head strong like carter.
Enjoys making fun of flyboys, is kinda a “hot girl” if you will 🤦🏼♀️ (trying a different than the shy “nerdy” girl) could of joined the Airforce but has too strong of a memory of what Generals can be like. (Has family ties to the airforce!
Oh she totally likes to “bullies” McKay, he actually respects her (secretly) because she can stand up for herself and show off her knowledge.
She might have a dark past?? Unsure
Have fun! Thanks for looks at my request 🙋🏼♀️” @stargurl-battleship
A/N: I am so, incredibly sorry this has take so long! Some of your request I'm kind of working into an SGA long shot and to prevent myself from (accidentally) reusing lines, I wasn't able to cover everything in the request, and I'm so sorry about that! I hope this is close to what you were looking for!
Being part of the Stargate programme was one of the best things that could have happened to you. Never once in all your years of studying, did you think you would ever get to use your degree to the extent which you currently were. Seeing the different races and cultures that participated towards the evolution of your own made your other hopes for your degree usage pale in comparison. You hadn’t realised that the stargate programme would be made up of mainly military personnel and was even more shocked to discover that most of them were Airforce and the few scientists that were in the team tended to be civilian contractors, with Major Samantha Carter seeming to be the exception to the rule. You studied under Dr Daniel Jackson for the first year or so of your career with the Stargate programme, you learned the dialects, the common and uncommon hieroglyphs, the correct pronunciation of words from Dr Jackson and Teal’c.
Eventually you joined a different SG team and would travel with a Major Evan Lorne and his team once Dr Jackson had deemed you ‘well versed’ enough to go solo. You and Lorne both got along well enough and had a similar bond to O’Neil and Jackson. You would call out Lorne for his ‘military tactics’ and he would call you out on your ‘naïve and protocol breaking ways’. When you were both made aware that you would be joining the Atlantis programme and travelling off world for an extended period of time, you made sure to grab any PDF’s you could on the language and dialects of the ancients and attempted to pack as lightly as you could. When Lorne came by your office to check in on your progress, he was highly amused and alarmed at the books piled high, the scattering of objects and the general untidiness of your normally pristine workspace. He had the greatest smirk on his face when you randomly popped your head out looking extremely disheveled, and making Lorne catch his breath without realising it.
“No, no, no, it can’t be time to leave already! I haven’t finished packing yet!” You panicked more, bouncing between different piles of books and artefacts. Lorne became more amused and continued to watch you from the doorway.
“Came on nerd, let’s go through this together, you still have a couple of hours until we actually have to leave, yet.” He put his rucksack down by the doorway and made his way into the office.
After a lot of debate and a few arguments of what’s logical to take and what’s essential to take, you and Lorne had finally managed to get a) your bag packed and b) drastically reduce the amount of bags you were trying to take through the gate with you. You both made it to the gate room just as the dialling sequence was finishing, much to Lorne’s annoyance, and bid your farewell to the Cheyenne Mountain Complex.
When you both arrived at the Atlantis site, it was breathtaking. You spent your first few days exploring the city, or what was open and accessible of it. You met Sheppard and his team. You found Tayla and Ronin friendly enough and learning of their cultures was fascinating. McKay was arrogant, selfish and definitely someone you made a mental note to avoid in the future. You were capable of keeping pace with McKay, but wasn’t up for the constant debate that you felt was sure to follow with being in a close proximity to him. You heard from Tayla that McKay appeared to enjoy your company and the intellectual sparring. You mentally gagged at the thought. When you were sent on your first mission with Lorne and Sheppard’s team you were excited, you made sure to keep at least 2 people between yourself and McKay and stuck close with Lorne.
When you were translating something, lost in thought and focussing on the writing and translation, Lorne would make sure that you remembered to hydrate and eat (even if it was just a snack) and when he was doing a perimeter check he would ensure that someone else from your team would take over the role of ensuring you ate and drank.
Once the survey of the planet was completed, you had packed up your equipment and was trying to grab some last pictures to study when you returned to Atlantis. Lorne made sure to watch your 6 and gently hurry you along. After about 5 minutes the patience ended and while you continued to ignore his pleas to head back to the gate, Lorne eventually huffed and grabbed you, throwing you over his shoulder and hauling ass back to the gate. Your protests being greatly ignored. Sheppard looked incredibly amused at the sight before him, Lorne attempting to run with your legs randomly kicking in protest and your faint voice calling for 5 more minutes to go back as you had missed a few columns for researching. Tayla completed the dialling sequence as you made it to the gate and Lorne refused to put you down until you were all through the gate. You huffed and squirreled yourself away in the research lab, using the Ancients data base to try and help translate faded parts of the text.
Lorne would periodically pop in or send Doctor Beckett in with nutrients and hydration, but you were so lost in thought (and truthfully still annoyed at Lorne) that half the time your forgot to eat the ever-growing snack/fruit basket which was accumulating on your desk. On Lorne’s 8th check-in he threatened to carry you to med bay for nutrition if you didn’t sit and eat soon. “Y’know I’m tired of you airforce boys trying to threaten me with med bay.” Lorne tried to hold back a smirk and stopped himself from bringing up the fact that you should be used to it growing up with ‘flyboys’.
The light smirk you attempted to push down when speaking with Lorne stole his breath. His checking in on you, made your heart skip.

**Made the ring kind of vague, so it could be like a normal engagement ring, or one of the simple bands with a stone set within it, rather than on top.

As John opened up the drawer, he felt a nervous flutter in his stomach. Rifling through to the bottom, he felt his hand touch a small box. Grabbing it and pulling it out, he let out a breath of relief, as though he was afraid it might have suddenly been gone. It was a dark blue velvet box, and inside was a silver ring, and at the center, your favorite gemstone. He had bought it a few weeks prior, but was still unsure of when or how he would ask you.
He thought maybe on your upcoming anniversary, but that was still a few months away, and he really didn’t want to wait that long. He had decided a long time ago that he wanted to marry you, and spend the rest of his life as your loving husband. He made himself wait until he could get the right ring, and now that he had it, he didn’t want to wait much longer.
Part of him was afraid he already waited too long, and that you were growing tired of waiting for him. But he brushed away that thought, knowing you well enough that you would never care that much as to leave him for that. You loved him, and he loved you.
Hearing his watch beep a few times, he looked down at the time. The team had a mission in 15 minutes. Closing the box, he placed it back in the drawer, covering it with his shirts before leaving to meet the rest of the team.
“Ready, Sir?” You asked as John walked into the room, now dressed in his tactical gear.
He peered at you out of the corner of his eye and you smirked. Lining up next to you as you faced the gate he nodded “I’m ready if you are, Major.” He spoke with the same candor as you, and as he saw you smile out of the corner of his eye, he felt his own smirk form. His mind flashing back briefly to the ring before the gate opened, bringing him back to the task at hand.

“Back to the gate, go!” He yelled as he carried you in his arms towards the gate, Teyla and Ronan covering him as he ran.
He looked down at your unconscious face and felt his chest clench tightly, an overwhelming fear taking over as he saw the blood soaking through your clothes.
The people on the planet had come across civil at first, but turned on the team the second they felt threatened. No one got a chance to explain anything before they began to fire on the team. Ronan was grazed in the shoulder first, before they fired at you, hitting you in your stomach.
Now as they ran towards the gate, being chased by a number of people, he thought of nothing but getting you all out of there, and getting you to Beckett.
Ducking down behind some rocks as Rodney dialed the gate, John looked back down at you, brushing stray hair from your face. Your eyes opened a bit as you looked up at him and he smiled at you, trying to convey that you would be okay. But you could see the fear in his eyes “Hey, we’re gonna get you back to Beckett, you’re gonna be alright, just hold on okay?” He spoke to you softly, trying to ignore the shots from Ronan and Teyla beside him.
You nodded as much as you could before you felt your eyes close again. You could hear the sound of gunfire and yelling, as well as John’s voice calling out to you, but as hard as you tried, you couldn’t keep your eyes open. And finally, you found yourself succumbing to the darkness.

It had been three days now since John got you back through the gate, and you had yet to wake up. So those two days, to him, felt like eternity. Beckett was positive you would make a full recovery, but only if you woke up, you had lost a lot of blood. You had been lucky, had he gotten you back any later, you very well could have died.
John sat at your hospital bedside, watching you closely as he fiddled with the ring box in his hands. He couldn’t get it out of his head. What if he had been too late? Not just in getting you back to the base, to Beckett. But too late in asking you to marry him. If you had died, he would never have truly known if you would say yes. He would never get to experience a life with you as his spouse.
He knew the job was dangerous, and you both had been hurt before. You both knew the challenges and risks. So why did this feel so different?
“Is that what I think it is?” Becketts voice asked softly from the door.
John looked up and saw Beckett looking at the ring box in his hand. He looked at it, and then back to Beckett. He nodded, “Yeah.” He said softly.
Beckett smiled as he walked closer “How long have you been holding onto it?”
“A couple of weeks.” he let out a sigh “I kept wondering when the right time to ask might be, and now...I almost lost the chance entirely.”
Beckett glanced at you and smiled sadly before looking back to John “But you’ll have the chance when Y/n wakes up. And they will John.” He said encouragingly.
John nodded and looked at Beckett, smiling, “Yeah, I know. And I’m gonna ask as soon as they do. I don’t want to risk losing the chance again.”
Beckett nodded while looking over at you, “Well now is that chance.” He said as he walked over to you.
John frowned, confused before looking over at you. As he saw your eyes begin to slowly open he straightened up a bit. “Y/n.” He muttered.
As your eyes opened all the way, you looked around a bit. Beckett smiled down at you “Welcome back Y/n.”
“Beckett.” You greeted, a bit confused “Where’s J-.” You began to ask before glancing over and seeing him as he took your hand in his. “John.” You said with relief.
“I’m here sweetheart. You’re alright, everythings alright.”
You nodded and let out a sigh “That was a close one.”
“Yeah no kidding.” John said with a breathy chuckle.
Beckett began to check you over as you began to wake up fully, sitting up, with only a few winces from pain. “Alright, everything seems fine. You feeling alright?”
You smiled at him. “I feel lousy.”
He let out a chuckle “Well that is expected, but otherwise, any pain?” You shook your head and he smiled “Good good. Uhh-” He looked over at John “I’ll leave you two alone for a bit.” He gave John a knowing look and smile before leaving.
John took a deep breath before looking at you, keeping your hand tight in his as he set the ring box on his lap. Bringing your hand to his face, he pressed a kiss to the back of your hand. You smiled at him as you saw the worry on his face. Reaching over, you ran your hand down his face, making him smile.
“You had me scared there for a minute, well actually a lot of minutes.”
“How long has it been?”
“Three days, give or take.”
“Wow.” You said with a nod “You’ve been here the whole time haven’t you?” You asked, a hint of ridicule in your voice.
He raised his brow and shrugged his shoulders slightly “Maybe.”
You both chuckled, and John brought up your hand to his face, kissing the back of your hand once again. Looking at him, you could see something in his eyes. He wanted to say something but he was holding back.
“What’s wrong? What aren’t you telling me?”
John let out a chuckle “How is it you always see right through me?”
You smiled a bit “Because I love you, and have known you for too long not too.” You paused for a moment “So what is it?”
John remained silent for a moment as he tried to choose what to say, finally, he let out a sigh and stared at you, gripping your hand a bit tighter “I almost...lost the chance to do something I’ve been wanting to do for years now.”
You cocked your head a bit and frowned “Do what?”
You watched as John took one of his hands away, disappeared for a moment under the bed. And when it came back up, he was holding a blue velvet box. The moment your eyes set on it, you felt your heart beat rapidly in your chest.
“To do this.” He said as he took his other hand away now, and opened the box, revealing an engagement ring set with your favorite stone. “I’ve been killing myself trying to come up with the right things to say, and the right time to do it. But when I almost lost you, I realized that doesn’t matter. All that matters is that we are together. And that we can be together for the rest of our lives. And for the rest of my life, I want to be your husband. So, will you marry me Y/n L/n?”
As he spoke, tears had begun to form in your eyes. You felt your heart swell with excitement and happiness. You had dreamed of the day you would get to marry him, though you never pressured the idea of it. And now as he was asking you, you couldn’t be happier with the idea.
“Oh John.” You said with a small laugh as a tear escaped and slid down your face “I want nothing more than to marry you.”
John let out an excited chuckle as he felt tears brimming as well. Taking your hand, he slid the ring onto your finger, and you let out a giddy chuckle. Looking at each other, John got up and sat on the side of your bed, before leaning in for a kiss. Gently grabbing his face, you met him in the kiss, forgetting everything around you as you embraced the pure joy racing through both of you.
xx End xx
I hope you enjoyed! If you did, please consider reblogging so that others might see!
A/N: This is my very first fanfic in English and since I am not a native speaker there might be a few mistakes. I got it proof read by a good friend of mine – but she’s not a native speaker as well. So… if you find something I should correct, please let me know.
I hope you guys like it, I had a lot of fun writing it. :)
"Unscheduled off-world activation," Chuck announced the incoming wormhole while Dr. Weir rushed from her office to the control room.
"It's Colonel Sheppard's ID, Ma'am."
"Lower the shield," she demanded and just a second later Sheppard and his team hurried through the gate.
As soon as he stepped into the gateroom Ronon stormed in the direction of the infirmary without stopping in his tracks to explain anything to Dr. Weir. His tank top was soaked in your blood while he carried you.
"What happened?" Dr. Weir wanted to know.
"She got shot," Ronon growled over his shoulder.
Weir turned towards Sheppard and the rest of the team with furrowed brows.
"I thought the people from PX4-861 were farmers who meant no harm."
"Seems like they were afraid of the Genii, who visited them a few weeks ago. They threatened them not to trade with us unless they want the Genii as an enemy," Sheppard explained while his eyes darted towards the corridor where Ronon disappeared with you.
Weir nodded. "Get changed. We can discuss this later after Carson had a look on Y/N."
You groaned in pain as you came back to consciousness. Your left side burned like hell and your head felt like it would explode as you tried to lift it from the pillow.
"Whoa whoa, easy there, little one." Someone pressed you down to the bed and you recognized John's voice. You opened your eyes and were glad that your headache didn't decide to get worse.
"How are you feeling, love?" Carson looked at you with his typical 'Don't lie to me, I'm just asking rhetorical'-expression. You smiled weakly.
"Felt worse when I got my wisdom teeth removed?" you tried to make a joke. Carson nodded and turned a small wheel to increase the dose of your painkillers. You turned your head to look at the team. "I messed up, huh?"
It was the first mission you could take part in after the AR-1 rescued you from a Wraith hive ship. The Wraith wanted to make a Runner out of you and had already planted the tracking device between your shoulders. You couldn't imagine why they wanted you to be a Runner, you weren't that tough or strong, not a fighter like Ronon was. Maybe they had thought it would be funny to watch you struggle to escape them and how you would fight to stay alive. A gruesome kind of fun, if one asked you. But nobody did and so Sheppard and his team had found you near unconsciousness in a Wraith cell just as they were about to take out the hive. It was beyond question to take you with them back to Atlantis and since you didn't have a family to return to you decided to stay.
"No, you didn't." Ronon sat at your left side. He looked like he wanted to return through the gate and punch the villager who shot you.
"It's nobody's fault," Teyla said. "We're just happy that you're out of danger now."
"And I think we should leave you to rest rest a bit,” Elisabeth suggested as your painkillers kicked in and you started to feel dizzy and light-headed. You nodded and couldn't prevent a dumb grin to spread out on your face as John ruffled your hair and pressed a kiss to the top of your head.
"Get better, little one. Next time everything will be alright."
Somewhere behind the dizziness you hoped that there would be a next time, because you learned so much about the cultures and languages of the natives of the Pegasus galaxy with the help of the Ancient database and Dr. Weir. You wanted to help those who rescued you and who grew to be the closest thing to a family you ever had.
You watched them leave and noticed that Ronon stayed where he was, sitting in a chair next to your bed. Although it seemed that he was quite angry, he didn't move a muscle. Or maybe he didn't because he was angry. With painkillers rushing through your system it was hard to tell.
"What's making you upset, Chewie?" you said, using John's nickname for Ronon. "Like Teyla said, it's nobody's fault that I got shot." Your words came out slurry and you suppressed a yawn. "And maybe it's not that bad. I wasn't made for fighting or joining Sheppard's team." You tried to shrug and hissed when hot pain shot through your left side.
"You kidding?" Ronon scoffed. "I trained you. You're not as good as Teyla. But you're better than McKay and know how to defend yourself."
Your attempt to lighten his mood didn't turned out well. He looked at you with furrowed brows and a hard expression on his face. Without thinking you reached out and patted his arm.
"Don't be so stressed out, Ronon. Like John said, next time everything will be alright." You yawned and closed your eyes.
"Will sleep now," you mumbled while patting his arm again. "Goo' night, Ro'on."
You didn't notice how a smile tugged at his lips while he took your hand and slightly shook his head. He stayed the whole night and held your smaller hand in his big ones and watched over your sleep.
