Re-watching Stargate SG1 and argh... Machello makes me so angry!
Reading the One Piece manga online... And... End of chapter 1149... WHAT?! NO WAY, WHAT!
... I mean the yo-ho-ho bubble not the last panel, just saying...
I'm working on a Haikyuu reader-insert (Reader X Kuroo). Reader is the manager of Nekoma and friends with Kenma and Kuroo. I know which vibe I'm going for but plot-wise I'm coming up short...
Any ideas, wishes, inspiration?
now some oc writers are using the “x reader” tag and giving the excuse that “it’s just a different perspective.” it doesn’t matter if you use that tag IF YOU’RE NOT INCLUDING THE READER! YOU have your own tag, leave us alone.
the “x reader” tag exists so that readers of any background, appearance, or identity can immerse themselves in a story and feel included as the main character.
when you write a story centered around your own original character, with a defined name, personality, and often a specific appearance, you’re no longer inviting the reader to step into that role, you’re writing about your character, not the reader. that’s completely fine! writing oc content is valid and has its own space.
but misusing the “x reader” tag to gain visibility or clicks is misleading. it sets the wrong expectations and excludes readers who were looking for stories where they could truly see themselves in the narrative. if your story focuses on your oc, label it honestly.
use the “oc x canon” tag or “original character” there’s no shame in that. but please stop co-opting a space that’s meant to be inclusive and flexible for all readers, especially those who are often underrepresented in fiction. the “x reader” tag is not a blank slate for oc projection.
it’s meant to include everyone, not just your creative vision.
respect your audience. tag responsibly.
NOTE: writing in another point of view like “SHE/HE went to the market” instead of “YOU went to the market” does not count as “x reader.”
(not 100% but most of the time) don’t try to be clever or sneaky about it.
NOTE 2: by the way, regarding the second image, it’s great to see more asian, black, and mixed oc’s! but even so, that still doesn’t make it a reader insert, let alone fit the tag. the reader needs to be the main character.

Feel free to stop here and rest before journeying to the posts below.
spreading these occasionally would be nice…
As someone with major anxiety who can’t fucking stop themself from scrolling, i appreciate posts like this
I just finished the second season of The Sandman... And never has a series left me this emotional, I'm a crying mess and I can't really tell what I'm feeling or why I'm feeling whatever I am feeling ...
Reader-Insert Requests
Hey everyone! Some of you requested reader-insert fanfics and I'm still thrilled that some of you want me to write them! <3 Thank you so much! I haven't forgotten about you at all, I promise! I just had a few years of not knowing how I want to write but I had a surge of motivation the last couple weeks/months. So I copied all your requests and saved them and will start working on them! They might not be in order of request, it depends on my inspiration and ideas.
So yeah, just wanted to let you know. <3
Watching Castle and loving all the hilarious and wonderful Firefly references!
I'm currently re-watching NCIS and... I may be thinking about kind of a rewrite for the show as a reader insert. Would anyone be interested? (Not promising anything though...)
So... a lot of you like this idea. And I'm just flabbergasted, I guess. Never got that many likes or responses for a post of mine. I'll be thinking about how I'd want to do this re-write. Let me know if you have specific wishes or scenes you'd like to see altered.

okay... weird question but...
... is there a Seto Kaiba x Reader fanfic out there with kind of a rewrite for the yugioh series...?
I may or may not be rewatching old animes and am binge watching yugioh right now and... kinda remembering my teenage crush on him?
Would anyone be interested in a rewrite-style reader-insert fanfic? Not that I'm gonna write this soon but...
Tumblr Code.
If I ever see any of you in public, the code is “I like your shoelaces”
that way we know we’re from tumblr without revealing anything
I’m just going to say this to strangers until i find a tumblr person

THE ORIGINAL SHOELACES POST?? ON MY DASH IN 2024??
It’s back!
To all reader-insert-writers... it's just boring to read a perfect mary-sue-ish reader. I want to read about struggles and not being-perfect-in-everything! You can't be sunshine-y, funny, happy and be mysterious and gloomy at the same time. Please don't write it that way... it's just so boring and unnerving to read...
I liked this post, scrolled for like another minute before I went “SHIT FUCK SHIT” and scrolled back to reblog it
I always reblog this one when I see it on my dash. When someone posts their own art, writing, or music here they are really hoping you will share it.
It’s back! *smashes reblog button*
I swear I sometimes feel my brain working 'in the background'? Kinda like a computer program you can minimize and it's doing its stuff? Like I'm listening to a pre-recorded lecture and taking notes and I can feel my brain thinking about the structure of a presentation I have to hold in a month! (And I write it down obvs cause my brain has some very good ideas!)
Is this normal or is just me...?
So... I'm reading a lot on ao3 and I try to comment on most things (when I have the energy for it). So I commented on this fanfiction which was tagged as /reader and /oc and gave it a go. In my understanding it was tagged as reader-insert for exposure - because it was clearly written with an OC (which is totally fine but just not what I wanted to read in that moment), because the "reader" had a name, it was written in third person and nothing indicated a reader-insert - in my opinion.
Nevertheless I found the plot idea quite interesting and wasn't sure if I wanted to read more or not - I hadn't decided when I wrote the comment above.
So I saw a notification that I got an answer to my comment and saw this. And... I'm sorry but I never insulted you, I never said anything particular bad about your story. I just voiced the question in my head because I don't understand why this was tagged as reader-insert. But I thought maybe there is a reason, maybe that changed in future chapters and just wasn't edited in the first ones (which would be fine!). And I would've loved to explain this, but I was blocked from commenting on this fic and I can't reach out to the author... what a way to deal with criticism... the one being snarky and insulting is you. I never intended to hurt or insult you or your work. It was a genuine question and a genuine opinion that I found this idea interesting.
Maybe you'll see this, maybe you won't. But I needed to get this off my chest because I don't think I did anything wrong. English is not my first language so sometimes I voice things a bit chunky or wobbly but that's no reason to insult me immediately without giving me the chance to explain what I meant.
Have a lovely day everyone
I watched the One Piece Live Action series. And I've got one (actually more but for the posts sake we leave it at one) question... where is Sanji's curly brow?
