Super niche situation(?): I wanted to make my friend (ModOx/Orthodox) a skirt as a gift. I bought a pattern and materials and sat down to work. Unfortunately, it was that point I realized I do not understand shatnez at all, and I am embarrassed to ask at this point. The material and thread are all cotton/poly except for the elastic for the waistband, which I have to find the label for. I am still worried that the garment I make will not meet halachic standards.
