Aka, the Viper/Omen fic that has been bouncing around my head since Omen's past got semi-revealed. In this fic, Sabine is still a bright-eyed doctor who just got her first promotion into a major joint research project between the hospital where she works and Kingdom. Omen, known as Ghost at the time was already a hardened assassin who has never flinched from a job well done. This one is a little different though as it involves going undercover first, and he's wholly unprepared to interact with people outside of his profession. This fic ends with Ghost's death, just fyi, so a generally sad ending even if we all know where he is now.

When was the last time he ever did a job that required him to blend into a regular civ life? Never. In fact, given his background, the last time he was part of society like this was when his voice hadn’t even dropped yet. Those were fun times. This job was definitely less ‘fun’. Still, he could feign forgetting his badge in his car, and he rushed back down knowing fully that his true target was not the clock-in stamp, but this jet-black car pulling in just now, only to slow as the driver realized someone else was in her spot. The money from this job was useless, after all. He could make more with one pull of the trigger than this job could in ten years anyways.

She watched him as he rushed to his vehicle, though he tried not to look back at her. She would definitely remember his face now, but what surprised him was when he heard the windows roll down.

“Hey, you took my spot!” she called out. Ghost locked his car and turned towards her. He always felt a rush when he first made eye contact with his target. It was almost different this time because his gun wasn’t already out.

He made a show of looking around for signs or anything. “Sorry, my first day. Where can I find that information?”

Almost intermediately, she looked deflated. This was the type of woman she was. She was not unreasonable, and she—

“Okay, it’s not an actual thing, but I’ve been parking there ever since I started working here, would you mind just moving?”

That didn’t follow the profile he assigned her. He took a closer look at her and saw the puffy under-eyes and anxious drumming on her steering wheel. Something happened this morning to her. He wasn’t looking to start a conflict with her, just make sure he was memorable.

“Little entitled, doncha think?” he asked. Before she could say anything, he added, “I’ll move this time. But you better park here earlier if you want the spot.”

“There’s at least twenty other spots in the garage, can’t you claim one of them?” Sabine muttered.

“Sure thing… What’s your name?”

“Does it matter?”
