So I know you just posted disabled Alec and I have no idea if you planned on continuing it but you have me invested. If you can maybe Magnus learning the story of how Alec got hurt and meeting Jace or Izzy. Or how you wrote that in meetings shadowhunter know when to pause so it's the first downwoarld meeting and they don't understand why Alec pauses. Forgive me for my rambling, but you have managed to make Wendsday my favorite day!!
for chronic!pain fics, I have @saeths read over them first so I hope you enjoy this, a glimpse into Magnus learning more about Alec
Also never apologize for rambling, I am made of rambles and that’s how fics happen! It’s also my favorite day!

“This should have killed you.” Magnus says one night, he can’t help it, the secret he whispers into Alexander’s hair, his fingers lingering on the scars Alexander still bears.
His lovely boy is lying on top of him, shuddering from pleasure and Magnus is using magic to ease his trembling, hoping that it will help soothe him before his body senses a weakness and attacks.
“It should have killed my siblings.” Is admitted, quietly into the night.
“You have siblings?” Magnus asks, honestly surprised because while he’s never paid much attention to the Lightwood’s in general, he knows he wouldn’t have missed Alexander mentioning them.
“I do.” Alexander says, but his voice trembles and Magnus sends more magic into him, heat infusing his palm as he rubs Alexander’s hips and back. “They are… we don’t talk very much.”
Magnus hums, unwilling to press his boy when Alexander is relaxing, but then Alec sighs, a shaky, warm gust of oxygen tickling Magnus’ chest.
“They were heavily sanctioned during our last mission together and after it, my brother and I were denied the right to be parabatai.”
“The mission must have gone terribly wrong.” Magnus muses and when Alexander tenses, he tightens his hold, gently but firmly. “Tell me it wasn’t—” he manages to say, so softly he’s not sure he’s said it aloud.
“They wouldn’t listen.” Alexander’s voice is harsh, but Magnus can tell that the memory has his heart breaking. “They never listened to me, but I thought they would, with so many Elders watching. I broke myself to save them, Magnus, and even now, I’m still struggling, and they still don’t understand. They think I should be better now. That I need to forgive and forget but Magnus, I can’t forget. My body won’t let me.”
Magnus doesn’t shush him, just soothes him because Alexander needs to say this, to speak his mind in a way he won’t allow himself to with his subordinates. Magnus, however, is his equal, his lover and is more than willing to share the burdens of Alexander’s heart.
“They don’t deserve you.” Magnus promises him, kissing his brow and then his hair and wishing he could do more than simply sink his magic into Alexander’s body.
There’s no cure, no matter how hard he looked, and it maddens him, having so much power and being able to do so little with it.
Alexander just sighs, snuggling a little closer and settling himself a little more solidly on Magnus and him just shrugs, silent and still as he falls asleep.
Bar Fight

It was just another day at the institute. I was in my training clothes, a tank top, and spandex shorts as I walked to the training arena where Izzy had told me to meet her. Isabelle Lightwood was my best friend and my parabatai. We loved to spar together and today was no exception. Once I got to the arena, Izzy was already there waiting on me with her signature weapon, her whip ready in her hands. "Took you long enough," she said with a smug grin on her face. "I was in the middle of something," I responded as I pulled out my twin blades from my hair, causing it to fall over my shoulders now. "Busy with Jace, you mean?" She smiled as we began to circle each other, waiting for someone to make the first move. Jace was my boyfriend of three years and Izzy's adoptive brother. Her parents took him in when he was ten years old after his father died in battle. I felt my face warm with the mention of his name. She saw that as an opening to take the first swing. I jumped out of the way from her whip and kicked at her so that she would back up. "We weren't doing anything," I said as I watched for her next move. She gave another smug grin, "Sure you weren't, Raz." She advanced now, sending punches and kicks towards me. Once I got her close enough, I swept my leg under hers, causing her to fall onto her back. I held my daggers on either side of her neck. She tapped my arm twice as a sign of defeat. I smirked and helped her stand up, "We weren't doing anything, just hanging out," I concluded. Before we could talk about it anymore we were interrupted.
"Razela, Isabelle, come on, we've got a job to do," a familiar voice called from the mission report room. We wasted no time rushing into the room to the table that showed a projection of New York on it where we met Jace and Alec, Izzy's brother. "What is it?" I asked, walking to stand beside Jace with my hands crossed over my chest. Alec zoomed in on the projection to a bar, "There is a demon, taking mundane blood. We are going stop it and hopefully find out what they are doing with it." I nodded and examined the area, "Kind of cliche that they are going to the Pandemonium. Are we luring the demons in or going in hard?" Jace answered now, "We are going to have to lure them in so that we can investigate them. Try to figure out what they need mundane blood for."
"Seductive it is," Izzy smiled at me before winking and walking off to get ready for this hunt. I looked over at Alec, knowing how he felt about using his little sister's body to lure in demons. But at the end of the day, it was a good tactic, so he said nothing. I walked off towards my room to get ready for this mission. Once I got to my room, I dug through my closet. After a few minutes of searching, I found the perfect outfit. A white leather crop top with a matching white leather short skirt and boots. I threw on the outfit and looked at my hair, I need a wig, I thought. Grabbing a long black cover-up coat, I walked out of my room and down the hall to Izzy's. I knocked on the door and it opened revealing Isabelle in a similar outfit. “You wore the red one!” I chuckled at our similar thinking. “Yeah, I figured you would wear the white one. I know you too well, speaking of which, you’re here for a wig aren’t you?” She smiled as I nodded at her. We had been friends for so long it was becoming impossible for us to not know what each other was thinking. She walked back into her room and looked through her wig collection before grabbing the short white-haired one, “Here, try this. Take off the coat so I can see it with the outfit.” I did what she said and let the coat drop to the floor and looked into a mirror with her behind me. “Yeah, yeah that's the one.” She smiled. Just then, someone cleared their throat in the hall just outside of Izzy’s room. We both turned in sync to see Jace standing in the doorway.
“Oh, hey Jace, Raz will be ready in a minute,” Izzy smiled before turning back to look at me fixing the wig so that it sat on my head properly. Once she was finished she winked at me and sent me off. I grabbed the coat off of the floor and walked to Jace who was still standing there waiting. Once I reached him, we walked down the hall together. “You look great. Almost too great,” he finally spoke, his voice low, “I’ll have to be fighting the demons off before we even get to know their plan.” He smiled a little bit and I did the same, “Jace you know I can take care of myself. Besides this isn’t the first time we’ve had to do this.” He just nodded and continued to walk on. I knew he hated when we had hunts like this. It’s not that he didn’t trust me, it was just that he hated the idea of other men gawking at me. I linked our arms as we walked to meet Alec outside of the institute.
Once Izzy came out and joined us, we headed off to the bar where the demons had been meeting. When we got there, the place was already packed full of people. Well, mundanes and Downworlders, and Shadowhunters. As Alec and Izzy entered, Jace gently grabbed my arm and held me back from following them. “Jace?” I asked looking up at him and recognizing the look on his face. I sighed and put my hand up cupping his face in it, “Hey, I’ll be alright. Nothing is going to happen. Okay?” He leaned a bit into my hand, finding comfort in it. He nodded and finally let out an “I know. Just… be careful.” I smiled up at him and gently pulled him down so that our lips brushed against each other, “I’m always careful.” He closed the distance between us and our lips crashed in a passionate kiss.
We pulled apart at the same time and his hand that remained on my arm dropped to his side. We walked into the bar together meeting up with Izzy and Alec again. “Girls,” Alec was the first one to talk, and Isabelle and I both knew what he meant for us to do. “Time to go to work boys,” I smiled walking off with Izzy. In sync, we got on top of two tables and let our cover-up coats fall to the ground, then took our wigs off to add to the surprise. We started dancing to the music that was playing, seductively swaying our hips, bringing the attention of the demons to us. Even while I was dancing I would watch Jace as he walked towards our main target and put his hands on her waist as he talked to her. I felt anger – no, jealousy – flow through my body, but I knew he was just doing the job, just like me and Izzy. I saw his seraph blade come alive in his hand, waited for the next move, and continued to dance.
Within moments, a fight broke out, Jace being the one to start it. I wasn’t shocked, that’s typically how they all started. Izzy and I wasted no time joining in the fight, quickly getting rid of the demons who had been standing around us. I had been tackled off of the table and pinned to the floor faster than I could blink. I grunted as the demon on top of me growled and tried to bite me. I managed to get my legs under it and kick it up off of me, sending it over my body. I stood quickly and pulled my twin blades out slashing the demon's throat, it fell to the floor and vanished. It was dead. I turned and saw that Jace had dropped his blade and rushed into his battle with two demons. “Let’s even the field huh?” I spoke to the demon before slashing at it. Jace managed to finish his, “Raz!” he yelled as I moved to the other side of the demon, putting it between Jace and myself. We both swung our weapons at the demon and it had no chance of escape. Shrieking, it fell to the ground and died just as the others did.
Once we were sure all the demons were dead, we all meet up in a nearby ally way, “Did you figure out why they needed the blood?” Izzy asked her brother who looked frustrated. “No, they wouldn’t tell.” I dropped my head and sighed, our hunt ended up being pointless. We’d have to catch them another day, and now we had tipped the other demons off. They knew we would be looking for them. It wasn’t going to be easy now. I felt a hand on my shoulder, snapping me out of my thoughts. I looked back up seeing Jace’s hand and followed his arm to see his face. “We’ll get them,” he reassured me. I nodded and knew that he was right. As we walked back to the Institute he had his arm wrapped around my neck, keeping me close to him. Alec and Izzy went their separate ways as we entered. Jace and I, however, walked back to my room together. We talked about the hunt, about how we hated that the demons wouldn’t say anything. Not that we were really surprised. Eventually, we both fell asleep together, cuddled up on my bed. At peace for once in our hectic lives.
Jamie kept the spoons Uncle Gabriel gave him. When asked why, he said it was because he loved his uncle Gabriel. James was able to say such things with a sinceriry that would shame anyone else.
After James said that, Uncle Will loudly asked what was the point in even having a son, but Uncle Gabriel looked touched.
