It’s what toxic people do. It’s called conditional love. Opportunistic love. Loving you only if they get their way, but belittle and mock you publicly when you don’t let them manipulate you. After you have seen that they are capable of self reflection, yet they choose to be this way, you know this is who they are. It is their personality. It is their choice. And I choose to remove them from my life.

Basking Dragon - taking a pause on pride art to draw a dragon having a nice day. I thought: how can I draw soothing water and a dragon at the same time? So here’s a dragon having their version of a spa day by laying down in a lovely shallow, sandy pond.

CLINTON -- The Clinton Book Shop will host a reading and book signing with author Alissa Grosso on Friday, Aug. 2.  Grosso will be reading from and signing copies of her third novel for young adults, Shallow Pond.
