I was tagged by @jrooc and @bawlbrayker. Thank you for tagging me! This is a fun one I think I did back in the day. Let's roll the tape.
rules: post the first lines of your last 10 fics/chapters posted on AO3 (if you have less than 10 fics posted, post the first lines of all your fics) and try to draw some conclusions.
It wasn’t that Adam thought there weren’t redheads in heaven; it’s just that he didn’t expect one to be on his welcoming committee. (Electric Blue)
“I think we should let the South secede.” (The Fine Art of Falling For You)
Someone had slipped an invitation under his door. (You Can Bite Me)
It all started with a hockey game, or rather, the effort to put a hockey game together. (Everybody Talks)
So you want to be a side piece, or maybe you’re newly minted--taking your first, fawn-like, thotty steps into the world. (Old Rules For New Side Pieces)
“BACKSTREET’S BACK!” (Sexual Harassment in the Workplace: Lockdown)
Mickey was already glaring by the time Ian made it into his office. (Grown Folks)
“Guy in the booth, green shirt, wants a dance.” (The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Ian Gallagher)
The signs were all there and they were getting harder and harder to ignore each day. (Visions of Us)
Ian never planned these excursions. (Lost in Translation)
Conclusions? I'm silly and I don't know if I'll ever top "Backstreet's Back!" as an opening to a story for as long as I live.
I like to go for high-impact openings and get into the action of it all as soon as possible. The start-up style is sort of eclectic, which is good because you should never let them know your next move.
Tagging @ronandhermy @whaticameherefor @sisitrip and anyone else who would like to give it a go! ♥
