"One, two, three. One, two, three. Step back, and--there, you have it. That's the waltz."
âI see, Agent Dawnsong.â He commented, following through withthe motions she showed. âShould we practice together then?â He asked, lookingto his side; she had been standing beside him facing the same direction andshowing him how he should stand and move.âNo, it is unnecessary. There is a high chance we will bedone long before they get to the dancing portion of this gala.â She answeredlooking up at the well-dressed draenei.Rook adjusted his jacket and ran his hand down the front rowof buttons, all buttoned but the last. The lessons were over then, asdisengaging as they had been. She was an okay teacher, but he was glad Reithehad been interested in cross-culture dancing and heâd already learned many ofthese dances previously. He could have mentioned as much, but he wanted to seewhat kind of person she was. âSo, what will we be doing then?â He asked, finally looking to her once he was sure his person was in order. She turned her head in a sharply and looked him up and down.âWhat do you mean âWhat are we doing?ââ She asked suspiciously, as though thismay be a test.âPrecisely that. I was instructed to meet you here, that wewould be âtaking careâ of something.â That was about the weight of things. Onoccasion, the Dyad would loan out members to those who were willing to pay. Itwas of course beneficial to The Dyad as well or they wouldnât risk it.Shanlorel exhaled through her nose in frustration. Hersuperiors had given her a partner to work with on this assignment despite herinsistence that it was unnecessary, and on top of that, it was someone from theoutside. She was annoyed, and perhaps that showed in her cold actions and howshort she was in conversation. âIf they did not see fit to inform you then Ihave to assume the objective of this business is on a need-to-know basis. Ourpartnership is only temporary and I believe youâve been hired to cover myappearance at the gala. A woman arriving alone would draw attention.â Though ahigh elf arriving with a draenei was also sure to draw at least some attentionto the pair as well. A poor fit, she thought, though she wouldnât vocalize it.âI see. And what do you feel is my need-to-know, then?â Hequestioned tilting his head ever so slightly to the right.âWhen people start screaming, leave.â She explained, levelingher gaze at him.His reaction remained calm and cool, but there it was, whenshe looked him dead on, the look in her eyes. There was no remorse. She had yetto act, but already she was prepared for what would happen. She had a killerâseyes. A small smirk crept onto the corner of his mouth. Perhaps this excursionwouldnât be as boring as heâd thought.
