This one is to work out the worth of crossposting, and where best to read and post full fanfic works.
Posting full works on Tumblr is more work for me, as there is a character limit to each text block so I have to split it as I copy it over from my writing documents. However, if it is worth doing then I will certainly consider it, I could schedule my back-catalogue to come out across January~
So, do let us know, as I'm sure other writers would like to know where our works are best shared for engagement and audience reach~

Plot and Sypnosis
Captain Cassandra is happy. She may not have her tail, ability to speak, or life under the sea that she gave up for nothing and every step is painful- but she has a crew, she uses a hand signing system to communicate, she's used to the pain, and the life of a pirate isn't really so bad when you have a loyal crew.
Sure, the wound that fisherman left still hurts- but if Cassandra ignores it and shoves it all down until she can't feel it it's not so bad. It still hurts, the gaping hole in her heart of being abandoned after she gave up everything for him still hurts-
But she’s fine. She’s happy.
Then Cassandra- quite literally- runs into Erica.
A hopeless romantic, gorgeous, pirate with no crew on the run from Gar Face Gabe and his gang of goons. Who is also so good at swordfighting it's beautiful.
Cass has faced Gar Face (the name is hardly accurate) many times before, and he is a bloody and ruthless pirate to be reckoned with. What could Erica possibly have that Gar Face would want so desperately?
Cass and her crew decide let Erica stay with them- she's gorgeous they have a common enemy after all. As it would turn out, Erica has a map to the infamous Nymand's Island, the most dangerous out of the islands in the waters that surround Eltya. An island that has a mountain that constantly spits liquid fire and is guarded by a huge gorilla- and according to the map, is where a dangerous and very valuable magical artifact is hidden.
A magical artifact that could wipe any magic from an object or person- no matter how big or small.
The quest is dangerous, but with a loyal crew and beautiful companion, it sure is the quest of a lifetime.
Extra Stuff
Here she is, my sapphic pirate girlfriends Little Mermaid Retelling! I based this one a little bit on The Little Mermaid tales and other retellings, but also Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl (best pirate movie ever). I also took inspiration from the book Alex and the Ironic Gentleman by Adrienne Kress, which also features pirates and hunting for treasure.
Wrote poetry (more word vomit) formatted like House of Leaves. It’s my first time writing long-form (ish) poetry. It’s entitled Basic Words. The formatting may not work on all devices- sorry? I might make a sequel that either works better or on desktop or just basic one. Enjoy!
Basic Words
I often try to write about perspective, and emotion, and my thoughts,
and
dreams and endless questions but I find my words, no matter the kind, are always
lacking. words firm in logic, or that flow like a river, words that dance with each other
crossed
like star lovers
or that
sit
solemnly
in
silence.
Words that that stay, that are colorful, that are
shift,
bland
that are
artistic,
that are basic,
The words I write now
fill me with anger, with
frustration,
with annoyance, because it’s not quite right.
I express the same hollow
words and desires on paper, on technology, in speech, in thought. They echo to myself
as distortions
of what I mean to put down. They are stable to others, perfectly normal,
but I see the rot that
shows its insecurity.
Words aren’t perfection despite what I want, they don’t reach perfection
despite what I want, they don’t cross all thought despite what I want
They are simple, meant only for simple meaning and conversations, not the colorful things I
think
or hear
or see.
They describe only the black and white photo
of an abstract
painting.
I continue to write the same useless words trying to express the
same useless
thoughts,
even though these things that are functional lies mean nothing to you
because you don’t recognize this black and white photo as the
same colorful
painting you see.
Words often feel cold and uncomfortable when I try to write . They feel
stiff
and rough
and angry.
Every word is angry and stiff, when my thoughts are loose
cloudy
and dreamy
happy and and l. d and and sudden.

Words are a science, and
thoughts are a mystery yet to be solved
I finish this poem, barely one at all, leaving unsatisfied and wanting for more.
More lines or stanzas about how I feel about how my paper doesn’t, how my
breathing
thoughts
are suffocated on the page.
The stanzas, the sentences,
the words,
the letters, the lines, they all mean nothing in the context of thought. Despite this I
push on as a writer and a thinker,
trying to connect the two in a useless attempt that
will never end.
I tried to finish this in a final paragraph of thought that summarized the
feelings I felt but it didn’t. Simple as that. I write these words again, still hollow,
still that black and white painting. I’ll probably never share these
Anxiety culture + writing culture is wanting to share your writings in writing groups but not doing it cause you think everyone will hate it because "it's too violent" or will be called edgy and- "no one in the writing community likes excessive violence" regardless of having a good reason for it. You just feel like an inadequate writer and keep your work to yourself
It’s alright if you don’t feel comfortable sharing your writing. Remember that writing doesn’t always have to be about pleasing others, it can also just be for yourself! I sometimes get a bit of anxiety when I post some of my writing on my other blog but the writing community here is very nice and supportive.
Okay I wanna share some writing tonight, what shall it be? (I'm taking votes if that isn't clear):
1. Frost & Fire Draft 1 (this will be probably from the later chapters that I've written more recently, and would be 1k ish)
2. Angel's Daughters Draft 1 (this would be the very begining of the story of Enna Helder's adventurers, before she was a Kromlin and when Anne had just gone missing, from the first chapter bc that's what I have written so far)
3. As yet unnamed Elemental WIP Draft 1 /Zero (This is the Idea I mentioned a few weeks ago, link to sorta intro here)
4. As yet unnamed WIP generally called Kairon's Story (this is the other idea I spoke about, involving a dragon as a narrator and an aroace trans demonsblood (reflavored tiefling) as the MC, vague intro post here)
This blog has been running since may now, and it’s been pretty awesome watching it grow so quickly and seeing so many great writers participate in the various prompts of the week.
Currently, the follower count is about 744, which is amazing and it’s so great to know that there’s an audience interested in the prompts and the incredible stories shared.
But, as any blog, the interacting considering the following is minimal, and can I believe is coming down to a number of factors including the lack of posts throughout the week to reach a bigger audience. As a result, I’ve decided to increase the number of events and prompts run by this blog.
So, this post is for one main thing.
What would you, the participators and writers and readers, like to see more of?
Sentence starter prompts? Competitions? WIP sharing related content? Different question sets? Fic/moodboard exchanges? Follower suggested prompts? Moodboard related content?
Also, if/when? this blog reaches 1000 followers, I’m hoping to do a large interactive event, possibly based on creating short stories based on another user’s prompt, and receiving one in turn, or perhaps a related moodboard. If you’re interested in that, let me know!
The aim of this blog is to be interactive, and to encourage reading and sharing throughout the writeblr community. My biggest aim is to increase reblogs for the stories shared, and to gain attention for the blogs who participate. So, especially for the regular participants, are you finding that the weekly prompts have helped create that, and what would you like to see/suggest in order to help you grow?
Thanks for taking the time to read, and hoping to hear your ideas!
