' grief shows itself in funny ways. ' / sharpsuit xoxo
@sharpsuit —— SIR NIGHTEYE / MEME.
“... it does.” grief embeds itself differently into each of its victims, crawling beneath their skin and making them act in ways that, often, they could not explain if pressed. if they understand their own actions, it’s even more unlikely that they feel up to talking about them.
in some people, grief manifests as an avoidance. they completely avoid the problem until it’s too late and then they wish that they’d taken the time to adjust before it was forced upon them. in others, grief manifests as a determination. they change their actions ( change their wardrobe ) and hope for peace through their own will.
for someone who is so great at bringing peace to those around him, all might can’t remember the last time he truly felt it. looking at his former sidekick, lying in a hospital bed and missing an arm, he thinks perhaps his world has never felt more upside down.
if grief hadn’t shown itself for his own injury, it’s showing itself now. if he had listened to nighteye all those years ago, would anything be different now? would he have been able to help if called on? would he have been able to do anything? would he have been in this situation in the first place? would everything have been worse from the start? without a symbol of peace...
