CHANGELING: Upon first meeting style blogger Elizha Colquitt it’s hard to believe the cheery-eyed Tennessee native was once a street thug—a gang member in fact—throughout a portion of his surly youth. Back then trouble was always a glance away. But times change. People change. Boys evolve into men. During our recent photo shoot in Philly’s historic Elfreths Alley, the 30 year old admittedly says he’s matured quite a bit since his southern bred childhood. “We’re all going to die one day,” he says. “Why live in a box while we’re here? There’s no reason for me to live for other people.” Somewhere along the road of life his perspectives changed. He stopped investing energy into what others thought of him. “There was a time when I worried if other people’s perceptions of what I wore was ‘soft,’” he says. “But I never thought what I wore was soft. My style is more ‘in your face’ now. (Today) I like eclectic pieces.
