POV: A stranger you have never even met brought you to your home while you were unconscious

Finally, I made an illustration for Retired Assets.

This is the most technically complex stained glass design I’ve done so far. It’s also an adventure to translate the black-and-white paper cut /woodblock print style I’ve been using for this project into a much more kaleidoscopic rendition. I’ve never tried nocturnal effects, so here it is — a first attempt!

The sky is already a bleeding amber when the lake comes into view. The day’s last wash of gold floods the horizon, igniting the layered clouds that drift low and slow like smoke. The lake below is aglow in kind — still, seamless, burning with reflection.

Sky and water, fire and glass.

Two worlds, folded into one.

It’s the knowledge that the day is dying that makes its colors breathtaking. The knowledge that night is coming, that the cold will follow.

And still, it burns.
