everything has a shelf-life.
food, technology, relevance and even relationships.
the sad part relationships with a shelf-life is when you have a designated time period for it, and you have to pretend that everything is fine until that time comes.
you have to save face so you can enjoy what you can get and you’ll have something to treasure for a long time. even if it didn’t last that long.
you go forward with it, for as long as you could. you hide how you break down everytime the thought of the clock running out of time.
you savor every moment with them, never breaking your cool. never showing any signs of sadness.
you only should feel bliss, whenever you’re with them. it makes the memories happier, easier to cherish.
you tell each other false promises of things lasting even longer, that things aren’t complicated. that things are just peachy and you guys are going stronger than ever.
time stops whenever you’re with them and you wish that it would just stop permanently. buying you more moments with them.
you slowly prepare yourself for the end. you tell yourself that it’s okay and you have a lot to thank them for. that everything’s alright..
but when the time comes for everything, as much as you prepared. as many times you’ve told yourself that it’s okay.
nothing can ever prepare you for that moment.
you can actually pinpoint the exact moment your heart is fucking obliterated into dust but ofcourse you have to save face,
you have to be thank them, smile and walk away.
you have to move on from the high you felt everytime you saw them.
you have to set a new routine, a life without them.
you have to heal yourself again.
because you knew from the start it was never going to last.
