Sheraton Manila Hotel officially ushered in the holiday spirit and concluded its milestone 5th anniversary celebration on November 12, 2023, with the enchanting “Let’s Light Up Together: The Share-A-Ton Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration.” This heartwarming event brought together esteemed guests, families, and community members in a joyous gathering that emphasized unity, gratitude, and giving.
Following the ceremonial tree lighting, Sheraton Manila Hotel proudly unveiled “Crafted by S Kitchen,” its new chic venue designed for innovative gatherings and celebrations. The Hungry Kat was invited to join the festivities at Sheraton Manila last week which even included a preview of the Christmas-themed buffet at S Kitchen.
General Manager, Ms. Anna Vergara, expressed her gratitude during her opening remarks for the tree lighting ceremony, reminding everyone of the pivotal role that community plays in enriching the Sheraton Manila experience. This momentous occasion not only marked the conclusion of an extraordinary fifth year for Sheraton Manila Hotel but also emphasized the hotel’s commitment to sharing its success with the community. Through various outreach programs and initiatives throughout the anniversary year, Sheraton Manila has reinforced its dedication to giving back, ensuring that the community remains at the forefront of its mission.
The highlight of the evening was the eagerly anticipated ceremonial lighting of the Marriott Bonvoy Lantern and the hotel’s magnificent Christmas Tree. Joined by distinguished guests including DOT Undersecretary Sharlene Zabala-Batin, General Manager Anna Vergara, and the senior leadership team, attendees participated in an exciting countdown that culminated in festive cheers, symbolizing hope and the spirit of togetherness.
In connection with this year’s celebration, the hotel also unveiled “Crafted by S Kitchen,” a new initiative focused on transforming culinary experiences through creativity and sustainability.
Crafted by S Kitchen is a private dining experience located just beside S Kitchen on the ground floor. This new restaurant will have a separate menu that will focus on a more unique culinary presentations.
Director of Food and Beverage, Ms. Czats Lopez, elaborated on the mission to create carefully curated dining experiences aimed at fostering connections and joyful gatherings. "Crafted by S Kitchen embodies the true nature of hospitality—where every meal tells a story, and every gathering is carefully crafted," Lopez shared.
As the festivities continued, guests enjoyed a sumptuous preview of S Kitchen’s festive buffet, featuring a variety of seasonal delights that tantalized the taste buds.
The festive atmosphere resonated with laughter and camaraderie, encapsulating the essence of what it means to gather during the holiday season.
Going with the holiday spirit, the buffet included a festive drink called Blue Christmas. This colorful concoction comes with vodka, lemon juice, pineapple juice, simple syrup and blue curacao garnished with blue white desiccated coconut.
The buffet comes with a wide selection of international favorites such as sushi and sashimi at the Japanese station. There were also canapés, breads, and salads to choose from.
The Pasta Station featured Penne Pomodoro and Spaghetti Carbonara for those who like Italian pasta.
Some of the other popular items were the Crispy Crablets and the Tempura.
They also have a dedicated Filipino Station with this ihaw ihaw platter as the centerpiece. These grilled favorites included pork barbecue, limp, longanisa, chicken feet, fishballs, and chichrron.
Make sure to drop by the fresh seafood station where you can choose your seafood and have it cooked according to your liking. I highly recommend getting some crabs and having it cooked Singaporean style.
Another highlight would be the Carving Station which has Roasted Turkey, Honey Glazed Ham, Lechon Pork Belly, and even Ribeye Steak.
S Kitchen's dessert buffet transformed into a delightful winter wonderland, offering an impressive array of sweet treats designed to please both children and the young at heart. Guests enjoyed a generous selection of sweet treats, ensuring that everyone left with a taste of holiday cheer.

Marriott Bonvoy, in partnership with FORD Philippines, proudly introduced the inaugural Marriott Bonvoy on Wheels Caravan presented by Marriott Hotel Manila and Sheraton Manila Hotel, heralding a new era of experiential travel and culinary exploration.
Bruce Winton, Multi-property Vice President at Marriott International - The Philippines, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “At Marriott, our purpose is to connect people through the power of travel. We're thrilled to connect our guests and Marriott Bonvoy members to more destinations throughout the Philippines and to the wonderful array of culinary options being offered by the Marriott hotel brands across these exciting locations, all while making sure to create a significant and positive impact in the communities in which we are present.”
This innovative culinary journey delighted taste buds and ignited the senses with its first leg that took place on May 11, 2024. The afternoon caravan in partnership with FORD Philippines started with a convoy of FORD Club from Parañaque to Pasay, ending the “parade” at the Urban Farm Grounds of Newport World Resorts.
The Urban Farm, part of the property-wide I Love Earth (ILE) sustainability program of Newport World Resorts, is where Marriott Hotel Manila grows high-value vegetables for use in its restaurants, such as the lettuce used in the Classic Marriott Burger.
Strategically nestled in the same complex, Marriott Hotel Manila and Sheraton Manila Hotel are esteemed for their distinctive culinary offerings, each embodying a unique identity rooted in the commitment to bring the best dining experience. For this special occasion, the two iconic hotels joined forces to celebrate the rich heritage of Marriott and its steadfast commitment to sustainability.
Returning to Marriott’s roots of quality, guests were invited to immerse themselves in an unparalleled dining experience with the exclusive Classic Marriott Burger Bundle. Furthermore, making the event even more meaningful was the opportunity for guests to be one with Marriott International's commitment to corporate social responsibility because a portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the chosen beneficiary of Marriott Worldwide Business Councils - Philippines, underscoring the dedication to minimizing environmental impact while making significant community contributions.
I wasn't able to attend the launch event on May 11 because we had just flown to South Korea that day, but I received a welcome treat the following week when Marriott Manila delivered my own Classic Marriott Burger Bundle right to my house. We were able to enjoy these delicious burgers at come courtesy of the Marriott Bonvoy on Wheels Caravan.

Sheraton Manila Celebrates 5th Anniversary with We Jive at Five Gala Dinner and Let's G Campaign
A night of gathering, appreciation, and new beginnings unfolded at the Sheraton Ballroom last January 25, 2024 as Sheraton Manila Hotel celebrated its 5th anniversary with the We Jive at Five gala dinner. Everyone was dressed to impress as Sheraton Manila and Marriott Manila executives welcomed the new year with several exciting promotions and campaigns.
The Hungry Kat was invited to join the festivities as Sheraton Manila Hotel officially celebrated its 5th anniversary with its distinguished guests, VIPs, and associates. We had always been a part of Sheraton Manila's journey ever since it opened its doors in 2019. My husband even surprised me with his wedding proposal at the hotel's newly-opened Oori Korean Restaurant in 2020. That's why we were happy to be part of this very special evening for Sheraton Manila.
Sheraton Manila Hotel stands tall as "The World's Gathering Place" and proudly declares its identity as the dwelling "Where the World comes together" as it celebrates its 5th anniversary. The unveiling of the official emblem, "Meaningful Jive beyond Five," revels its momentous milestones and heralds a new chapter in the hotel's legacy.
Crafted with a mission to exude a celebratory and vibrant personality while maintaining the brand's upscale image, the newly unveiled emblem is a visual masterpiece. The design elements are meticulous — a color palette representing the 5 key immersive pillars, a harmonious integration of 'S' for Sheraton and '5' for the fifth anniversary, and dynamic strokes symbolizing movement and progress. The Sheraton Manila's official 5th year logo is not just an icon; it is a symbol of Sheraton Manila Hotel's commitment to delivering a celebratory experience.
Sheraton Manila Hotel’s General Manager Anna Vergara gave her opening remarks to start the night's programme. “Over the past five years, Sheraton Manila has become more than just a hotel; it is a symbol of world-class hospitality, a sanctuary of luxury, and a haven of shared experiences. Each milestone has etched itself into the story of our victories.”
But the celebration does not stop there. Sheraton Manila Hotel invites you to partake in a year-long journey, a hotel-wide campaign titled "Let's G!: Sheraton Manila Hotel's Meaningful Jive Beyond Five." This immersive experience is a curated celebration that promises to delight your senses, unfolding across various touchpoints throughout the hotel. Let's G! is not just a milestone celebration; it is a journey symbolized by the acronym "5G." Each immersive pillar offers a unique facet of celebration. Embark on a culinary journey with gourmet delights with “Let’s GO!” an elevated culinary experience by Sheraton Manila Hotel's culinary team. From breakfast buffets to elegant in-room dining options, every meal is surely an exquisite experience with the latest offers and experiences in store for diners and guests. “Let’s GROW!” or Sustainable Crafted Dining incorporates Sheraton's unwavering commitment to sustainability through responsibly sourced ingredients.
Sheraton Manila’s celebration aims to also highlight its wellness-focused amenities and spa treatments designed to rejuvenate your senses through “Let’s GLOW!” or holistic wellness retreat. With Sheraton's recreation offerings in its signature Shine Spa, it promises a holistic experience, ensuring an enriching stay. Purposeful gatherings are one of the goals and Sheraton Manila wants every stay and experience to be a catalyst for community initiatives as a portion of the proceeds from this year’s efforts goes to local causes, making a meaningful impact in the community in every stay through “Let’s GIVE!” immersive pillar. Socialize in style & comfort in every quality moment and sophisticated gathering that happens in every spacious premium room and versatile event spaces at Sheraton Manila Hotel. The “Let’s GLEE!” pillar that evokes specially curated preparations for banquets, meetings, weddings, and social events to ensure lasting memories that is Beyond Happiness as everyone comes together at “The World’s Gathering Place.”
The pillars are thoughtfully integrated into the year-long efforts, each bringing its own flavor to the celebration. "ELEVATE" from January to April focuses on culinary excellence, sustainability, and premium rooms. "ILLUMINATE" takes center stage from May to August, brightening every experience with culinary excellence, sustainability, and wellness. Finally, "CELEBRATE" from September to December adds festive celebrations, community impact, and social gatherings to the mix.
Live musical performances were part of the evening's spectacle as talented young artists entertained the crowd with their talents.
Now it's time to enjoy the five special courses prepared by Sheraton Manila's culinary team.
We started with the Beetroot Cylinder appetizer from Sheraton Manila's In-Room Dining which transfors your space into a gourmet haven. This vibrant dish comes with goat cheese mousse, sous vide heirloom beets, and microgreens. Elevate your stay with a symphony of flavors, exclusively designed for you.
Next is a soup dish called the Boyangsik from Oori Korean Restaurant. Savor the rich, sustainable goodness of a traditional Korean soup crafted with locally sourced organic ingredients.
I really liked the Atlantic Salmon from The Lounge. Indulge in a perfectly pan-fried salmon on Lyonaise potatoes, complemented by a delicate Clam Nage.
Our main course was the Brasato Al Vino Rosso from S Kitchen. This is a slow-cooked beef cheeks in a rich red wine jus, velvety Celeriac Mousseline, and crispy fried leeks which create a mouthwatering experience.
Lastly for dessert, we had a taste of the Strawberry Cheesecake from the Pinas Muna Hub on the lobby floor. This is a divine blend of cream cheese, sour cream, and vanilla extract.
There was also an open bar to make the evening even more memorable. Cocktails were served including Manila Quench, Lychee and Orange Blush, Banana Basil Smash, Clarified Hazelnut Colada, and Pink Moscatto Sangria.
As the year unfolds, Sheraton Manila Hotel promises to continue giving guests more reasons to "G" and gather in 2024. The meaningful jive beyond five resonates through every experience, making each moment at Sheraton Manila Hotel a gathering celebration. S Kitchen Redefines the Buffet Dining Experience With Gourmet Weekends
There are plenty of buffet and all-you-can-eat venues all around the city, from simple samgyupsal barbecues to grand luxurious hotel restaurants. Everyone is now ready and eager to go back to their favorite dining establishments, but one place stands out for offering both the excitement and freshness of a dampa/paluto market plus the allure of an elegant five-star hotel buffet restaurant. Sheraton Manila is totally redefining our buffet dining experience with their Gourmet Weekends at S Kitchen.
Sheraton Manila Hotel’s all-day dining restaurant S Kitchen is making gourmet dining available in a buffet set-up with their Gourmet Weekends. Located within the Resorts World Manila entertainment complex, guests can catch S Kitchen’s Gourmet Weekends every Friday and Saturday from 6:00pm to 10:00pm for P3200 nett per person. The Hungry Kat was invited one Saturday evening to try this premium weekend buffet and it was truly a wonderful night filled with gourmet delicacies and excellent seafood that makes it one of the best buffet offers in the city.
This upgraded weekend dinner buffet offers a vast array of seafood like sustainable shrimps and mussels, live crabs, and freshly-caught pompano together with foie gras, oysters, premium steak and meat cuts which are cooked à la minute according to your preference.
With sleek interiors, high ceilings, and full-length glass windows facing the NAIA Terminal 3, S Kitchen makes casual dining a luxury in this busy and hectic part of the city. Here you can savour all-time favorite global dishes and elevated Filipino cuisine using the finest local produce and traditional techniques.
Sheraton Manila Executive Chef Kiko Santiago is one of the only Filipinos to head a five-star international hotel brand. S Kitchen was included as one of the best buffet restaurants in Tatler Dining Awards 2022 but Chef Kiko takes it one step further by including fine-dining dishes into their buffet setup with Gourmet Weekends.
You can start your gourmet adventure with some healthy salads. S Kitchen partnered with Aba Pardes, an Agritech corporation that transforms traditional agriculture into sustainable produce, for the Hydroponic Salad Station where diners can enjoy a variety of fresh leafy greens from the buffet counter to their table.
Right beside it is the Japanese Station which offers fresh salmon and tuna sashimi together with a variety of sushi and maki.
One of the highlights of the Gourmet Weekends at S Kitchen is the Foie Gras Station. The weekend offer comes with unlimited access to the rich, buttery, and delicate duck liver or foie gras which usually commands a high price and can only be found in expensive fine-dining restaurants. Here, you can get as much as you want of this exquisite delicacy.
S Kitchen is one of the only buffet restaurants that offer a live Dampa or Paluto section where guests can get their favorite seafood from the “market” and then bring them over to the cooking stations to be prepared according to their preference.
A dampa is a wet seafood market that is usually connected to a cooking and dining area where buyers can enjoy their seafood purchases right after buying them. At S Kitchen, you don’t have to haggle with the market vendors or wade through the wet floors because everything is easily laid out for the guests to take.
You can grab a live mud crab or two from the barrel and send it over to the cooking station. You can be absolutely sure that these are fresh because they are all still moving!
There are many ways to cook your chosen seafood. This is the Sweet Chili Crab which is similar to the Singaporean style of cooking but not as spicy. You can also have your crab or fish steamed, fried, cooked in butter garlic, soy sauce, or any other way you like.
For the squid, these are often grilled but I also suggest that you ask for them to be cooked into crunchy Calamares.
On top of the many exciting dishes at the S Kitchen Gourmet Weekends, diners can also enjoy different varieties of oysters - whether freshly shucked, baked, or as Oysters Rockefeller. These will have an additional charge per order but they are really worth it.
There are many other sections to explore here including the Bulalohan Station. You can an order locally sourced fall-off-the-bone bulalo with its delectable bone marrow and watch how the servers assemble all of the ingredients. They also offer Philippine native chicken as well as Sinanpalukan.
Fans of IKEA will enjoy the Swedish Meatballs which taste almost the same as the ones in the popular international furniture store. Best of all, you don’t have to wait in line for these. There’s also the Pot Roast with Apple Sauce which really looks tempting.
There’s actually a lively fiesta atmosphere at S Kitchen with guests roaming around getting their favorite items from the different cooking stations. You can find the Cebuchon here at the grilling station, together with various local skewers like isaw and chicken barbecue.
The highlight of the S Kitchen Gourmet Weekends is arguable the steak and meat section where you can choose your favorite premium steak cuts and other juicy meats.
There’s US Beef Top Sirloin, Chuck Eye, Short Plate, Spanish Pork Loin, Pork Collar, Pork Belly, Australian Lamb Rib, Lamb Kebab and Lamb Kofta. You can order as many slices as you like according to your preferred doneness and the server will deliver the cooked meats to your table.
It was a carnivore’s dream come true with all these premium and expensive cuts that are usually only served as a la carte orders in fine-dining restaurants. S Kitchen Gourmet Weekends makes it possible for food lovers to enjoy all these exquisite items in a buffet setup.
Beverages are also included in the buffet price with free-flowing juices and sodas that you can order from the waiters. Aside from these, they also have a selection of classic cocktails and mocktails made on the spot by the roving bartender.
Cap off your gourmet weekend with a trip to the Dessert Station. There are many sweet items on display including cakes, pastries, cookies, candies, brownies, a halo halo station, unlimited ice cream, and an overflowing chocolate fountain.
The Crepe Station also offers a sweet treat for everyone. Ask the server to prepare a fresh crepe with your choice of apple, strawberry, blueberry, mango, peach, or banana compote topped with whipped cream and an extra scoop of ice cream.
The Gourmet Weekends at S Kitchen is a fantastic adventure that will surely satisfy all its hungry guests. The dampa and paluto section is definitely a unique feature but the foie gras and steaks are surely what will keep us coming back for more. Make sure to reserve your seats for dinner this weekend because it will surely be another full house.
