FitzSimmons headcanons that live in my mind rent free

Academy Days:

During their time at the Academy, there were SEVERAL times they both fell asleep in one of their beds because they were up so late studying/working on projects.

like they hung out in each other’s dorms all. the. time (except when they were in the lab)

Jemma always sat in the front row in the classroom.

Fitz never did (except if it was a class him and Jemma had together, then he was right there next to her).

After FS became friends, they, without fail, would bring the other up in every conversation they had with their parents.

So much so that both sets of parents became suspicious (in a good way) of the other young cadet their child was spending all their time with.

When Mrs. Fitz met Jemma for the first time, she IMMEDIATELY loved her.

Mr. and Mrs. Simmons felt the same way about Fitz after meeting him for the first time.

Both sets of parents eventually got each other's numbers and definitely talked about their kids and how they shipped them together.

Growing up, Fitz took apart and put back together nearly every machine/contraption in their house

However, Mrs. Fitz didn't mind... most of the time.

Skip ahead/Future:

FS had one other kid after Alya, probably another daughter.

The shield fam are Aunts/Uncles to the FS kids (Aunt Elena/YoYo, Uncle Mack, Aunt Daisy, Uncle Daniel, Aunt Bobbi, Uncle Lance/Hunter).

Except for May and Coulson who are more like a third set of grandparents.

The shield fam has a group chat with the whole team in it (Jemma, Fitz, Daisy, May, Coulson, Mack, Elena, Bobbi and Hunter).

Jemma constantly sends photos and videos of the kids to said group chat, and they demand more if she hasn’t sent any in a while.

The FS kids are 100% spoiled by the team.

Alya definitely had a monkey themed nursery when she was a baby.

When Jemma goes into preterm labor at only twnety-eight weeks, it leaves both her and the baby fighting for their lives. Meanwhile Fitz, their son, and the rest of the team struggle to keep it together, unable to do much more than wait and pray.

AN: This fic is set in the Cody verse, an AU where, instead of finding Will Daniels on Maveth, Jemma finds his orphaned son Cody, and brings him back to Earth. You should be able to enjoy this fic without having read any of the others in the serries, but it may be more enjoyable if you take a look at I won’t let go  and this post with some context/background info first.

Jemma presses one hand to the aching small of her back, the other splayed over her protuberant belly as she stands before the stove waiting for the kettle to boil.

“Oh, hush,” she chides as the baby resumes its assault on her bladder. “Haven’t you already given me enough trouble today, hm?”  

“Little bugger’s a handful, i’nt she?” Hunter smirks, juggling a bowl of cereal in one hand and a squirming Landon in the other. “Probably gonna be a brat just like her mum.”

Jemma snatches a spatula from the counter and lands a sound whap to Hunter’s shoulder as he edges past her, causing milk to slosh over the rim of his cereal bowl.

“See that, Ladybug? She can’t resist proving me right,” Hunter says to the toddler.

Landon points to the spilled milk, mouth popping open in a worried O.

“Don’t call my kids brats,” Jemma huffs, impatiently cranking the burner up to fullblast.

“D’you want me to ask Bob where her heating pads are?” Hunter asks as he kneels down to mop up the mess. “These two were wicked up towards the end, wherencha Ladybug? Reckon it’d help with your back or your ankles or whatever the kid’s flaring up today.”

“Everything,” Jemma groans. “It’s everything. The next three months cannot go quickly enough.”

“You say that now,” Hunter says darkly. “Just wait till the banshee keeps you up three days straight.”

The kettle starts up a shrill whistle, and Jemma hurries to turn it off, grabbing the dish rag draped over the oven handle to pour herself a steaming mug of caffeine-free herbal detox tea.

“Did you want some, love?” She cranes her neck to see Cody where he’s hunched over the kitchen table, head buried in one of Laurie’s thick geology journals. He gives a barely perceptible shake of his head, not glancing up from the yellowing pages.

Hunter raises a questioning eyebrow at Jemma who sighs. She knows exactly what the matter is. Fitz left for a field mission yesterday morning. It’s a fairly standard investigation into a new 0-8-4, but Cody’s been having a hard time with either of them leaving base recently. Jemma is quite at a loss to explain the sudden spike in separation anxiety. He hasn’t worried about them being in the field like this in years.

She grabs a second cup anyway and fills it with some of the sweet lemon tea he likes for some unfathomable reason (she can only blame his American genes), adding a healthy amount of milk and honey to it, too. A mug in each hand she carefully negotiates Hunter, Landon, and the counter to join Cody at the table.

“Which one’s that?” she asks, trying to read the text of his book upside-down.

It makes her woozy, though, so she stops.

“Essays by Stephen Jay Gould,” Cody tells her, finally glancing up. There’s an apology on his face. He knows he’s being rude, but focusing on the reading stops his mind from spinning toward Fitz.

Jemma reaches out to tousle his hair affectionately. She knows Gould is his go-to.

“I’ve got to get back to the lab,” she says reluctantly after a few minutes of sipping her tea and watching him read. “Dad’s waiting on those compound assessments and there’re a million genetic sequences that apparently need my immediate attention.” She rolls her eyes - new lab techs.

Cody marks his page with a napkin and gets up to join her, offering an arm to help her out of her chair. He’s been following her around like a ghost all day. Jemma groans loudly as she stands, making a face and rubbing her back again. Cody’s face pinches worriedly, and Hunter frowns at her from the island where he’s sharing his cereal with Landon.

“You could take a break,” Hunter suggests bravely.

“Oh, honestly, I’m creating a human being as we speak. Can’t I complain without being rushed to the fainting couch?” She kisses Cody’s forehead, which, thanks to his latest growth spurt, is conveniently at chin height. “I’m perfectly fine, so both of you can quit hovering.”

Truth be told the back ache is particularly bad today, and it’s making her a bit nauseous. But having spent most of her life in a male-dominated field fighting tooth and nail to prove to her colleagues that her gender has no baring on her ability to excel at her job, she loathes the idea of shucking responsibilities for a little pregnancy discomfort.

“Come on, Monkey, you can help me run some particle analysis.”

By the process of "Most of these people don't even know what Ikea IS" and "The Royals have never touched a tool in their entire lives", we're down to the summoned Heroes as a 'Who in your FOUND FAMILY can do this?'.

And by process of "I'm Biased" and seeing how much, and how good he is at using his hands in canon, Naofumi does if perfectly well, and only requires help if it's to lift something or hold it or hand him something.

Motoyasu can assemble things but they will collapse after either three hours or three business weeks, after which he will call for help only to realize he didn't tighten anything properly. (He does know how to very efficiently change lightbulbs tho)

Ren and Itsuki can assemble pretty much anything if they work together but will need help if it's something standing, like a closet, because they either can't reach or can't carry it.

Kizuna can't assemble any Ikea. She creates eldritch Pinocchio horrors.

One day, Naofumi is having a no good, very bad day™️ where his brain refuses to cooperate and he's just tired.

When the others notice, by L’Arc's prompting, they decide to force a Mental Health Day on Naofumi, because the gods know Naofumi needs a break.

He gets coddled and pampered all day, gets countless cuddles from Filo, Rishia and Raphtalia made paafries and snacks, Therese gave him a massage, and L’Arc read him a story.

Shield Family Office AU :D

I have been watching way too much Brandon Rodgers, so I'm thinking Angry Office AU, including A Day At The Park, but more just wholesome Shield Family Shenanigans.

Like, they're honestly just fucking around and being chaotic half the time, and yet they're still one of the top-performing branches, Melromarc Branch, in the Company.

Myne, the Receptionist, somehow always manages to get their too-close deadlines pushed back no matter how close they are. She's also great at reporting any and all offenses/violations towards her coworkers to management.

Motoyasu, Assistant Manager, either socializes with everyone or flirts with Myne half the day, and spends the rest playing random games on his computer, yet still gets all his work done. He stops flirting if someone says or shows they don't like it.

Naofumi, Finance Manager and Local Tired Dad, looks 1 cup of coffee away from either falling asleep on his keyboard or throwing the keyboard to the ground. He's also the best at his job and somehow always manages to wrangle more money out of management for their branch.

(Naofumi has fallen asleep at his desk multiple times, and each time someone found him, they broke out one of the pillows and weighted blankets from the supply closet and let him get his sleep. As he slept, everyone else resigned themselves to working as quietly as possible so they didn't disturb him.)

Therese, Head Designer, is to be left to her own devices if she'd had four or more cups of coffee (only Naofumi is allowed to disturb her then) or if she's focusing (No one is allowed to disturb and all loud noise is automatically taken to the hallway.

Aultcray, Head Manager, has the aura of a fun uncle/dad and lets everyone be as chaotic as they want, so long as they pay for anything they ruin, don't disturb others too much, and do their work. He's also Myne's dad, and may or may not be the one constantly overfilling the candy bowl on her desk every morning. Is also the one to arrange

His Wife, Mirellia, is on the board of Directors, and often visits with their youngest daughter, Melty, after picking her up, and everyone loves her and lets her sit by their desks with a pen and paper, as she keeps insisting on helping, as she makes drawings in the form of helping.

Ren, Itsuki, and Rishia(Naofumi's eldest daughter), the Interns, did not think Office Life would be like this.

Filo, Rifana, Keel, and Raphtalia, Naofumi's other kids, have been taken to the Office multiple times mainly because either Naofumi couldn't get a babysitter, or something happened at their school. Because Naofumi is already stressed, everyone in the office silently bands together in agreement to take care of the kids while they're there.

And for some reason, the CEO of their Company, Sickle Corp., L'Arc Berg, keeps coming to visit and flirt with Naofumi and Therese; no one has yet to get an explanation or figure out why.

(When they finally find out the three are dating, and after spying on one of their dates to see if L'Arc really is genuine with their friends, they all question how they even thought Naofumi could take care of himself and five kids with his meager Office Salary and didn't think over why Filo kept on calling Therese 'Mama')

(The whole branch is invited to their wedding after some years, and Naofumi and Therese keep their jobs despite not really needing them, mainly because they love the bonds they've made in the Office.)
