“Deve prendere ago e filo e ricucirsi da sola.”
Chuck Palahniuk, Invisible Monsters.
Diventa perso.

The girl soon returns to the blacksmith where she had gotten her armor. A week had already passed, and she had already reached Level 52, but unfortunately, her outfit was damaged (her cloak or something). So she decided to go back again since she was already familiar with the place. But as soon as she opened the door, she came face to face with someone.
—Huh?
—Huh?! (Naofumi)
You looked into the eyes of the black-haired boy, shocked. You had always thought about looking for the boy, but now he was really right in front of you. A blush appeared on your face; you truly had nothing to say and were red with shame. How would you explain? But before you could sink into your thoughts, someone licked your cheek, and you looked at your little companion, Kabumaru.
—What are you doing here, (name)…?
You sighed and calmed down, but you were still nervous. You didn't know how to talk to the boy after everything.
—I… I… I came to fix my clothes. And from what I see—you looked at the boy and then at the girl smiling peacefully at both of them—you have friends.
—She's not my friend. Ah, forget it. Anyway, hey boss, just give me the armor so we can get out of here.
—Ah, alright. But I'm also getting Mrs. (name)'s.
You were surprised, and the others were too. The boss just laughed as he walked away and went inside to get the armors, leaving the rest of you in silence. Raphtalia looked at you while you held the book in your arms; the little snake just stuck its tongue out at the Demi-human.
—Wait… that book…
You and Naofumi looked at Raphtalia, who approached and placed her hand on the book. You looked confused at the Demi-human.
—You… it really exists?!… I can't believe it…
—What's going on?—you asked, looking at Naofumi, who just sighed irritably. Normally, people were only surprised by the fact that you had a Book as your cardinal weapon, but they didn't say anything, just confirmed that you really were the Heroine.—I don't understand, girl?
—It's just that… I thought… they didn't exist anymore…
Well, that was to be expected. So she simply stepped back and apologized while Naofumi called her. You looked at your book and then at Naofumi; he just averted his gaze.
—Look… I don't want you to be mad at me, so… I apologize for that day…—you said while bowing, holding the book. Even though you had tried to save Naofumi, you felt guilty, even though you hadn't done anything.
—Lift your head.—said the boy. You lifted your head and looked at Naofumi.—You were the only one who stood up against the others that day. You're not to blame for anything.
He then averted his gaze, remembering the day he was betrayed. You walked over to him and placed a hand on his back, comforting him. At that moment, the blacksmith appeared with the clothes. After that, you changed. You came outside with Naofumi and Raphtalia, whose name you just learned. They were checking out how the armor looked, while you asked the blacksmith:
—If I may ask, why did you have an outfit for me? I haven't even paid you yet.
—Well, when you left that extra money, I thought you might come back someday, so think of it as already paid!
You looked at the man, smiling, then at Naofumi, who was looking at his armor.
—And boss, explain to me what this is!
—It's a custom armor. I call it the Barbarian Armor. It makes you look like a bandit.
—Technically, I'm a hero. But you made it to order, and it would be a waste not to use it. What can you do?
Soon, everyone heard the sound of horse hooves. Walking to the front of the alley, they could see the royal knights heading in a direction.
—Looks like they're preparing for the Wave,—said the bald man while looking ahead.
—If only I could see when the Wave is coming, I could make a plan.
This shocked both the heroine girl and the blacksmith, who looked at each other and then at Naofumi.
—You didn't know?—you said, getting the hero's attention.
—I heard that inside the church, you can see the Dragon Hourglass, and when the last grain runs out, the Wave begins,—finished the blacksmith.
—Let's go. I'll take you to the church, right in the center.
And then, without a word, the duo follows the heroine after saying goodbye to the blacksmith. Meanwhile, on the way, Naofumi decided to ask.
—Hey, (name), explain something to me.
—Go ahead, ask.
—How did you level up so fast? The last time we met, you were Level 20, and the others were still at Level 5. Explain.
You sighed before speaking.
—After we separated, I went to the forest. During those days, I leveled up nonstop. Thanks to the book, I could absorb the dead monsters, gaining more skills, besides some simpler ones.—You looked at the sky while the duo looked at you.—When the king said he would give me more money because I was weak, I forced myself to fight constantly. I wanted to come back stronger than everyone and show them I don't need a weapon or a shield to fight.
Naofumi sighed while looking at you, and then at your weapon. Certainly, you must have used your body a lot, leveling up without rest. It was then that he looked at the snake around your neck. You petted the serpent's head and looked ahead before continuing.
—Then, on the last night, while camping, I found this little snake in a bush. I helped her out of the branches, and she started following me, and soon we became companions. So we returned to the capital.
Silence continued on the way back to the church, but Naofumi soon broke it.
—I was surprised when you showed up alone. I thought in this time you would have gotten a party like the others.
Said the boy while crossing his arms and sighing, remembering the other heroes and the bitch who dared to betray him. But his thoughts were interrupted by your laughter.
—What's so funny?
—Nothing, it's just that… I really didn't want a team. People would come and try to join, but I couldn't say anything to them, so I'd leave. That's why I didn't want to join one.
—Wait a minute, are you telling me you couldn't talk to other people and that's why you're alone?!
—I'm not alone! I'm with Kabumaru!
Raphtalia soon approached your side, looking at the white snake you were holding. She noticed its vibrant red eyes and soon asked:
—This snake seems familiar to me. Do you happen to know where it came from, Ms. (name)?
—No, unfortunately not. Like I said, she just appeared and ended up staying with me. But I think it was near the forest north of the capital, if I remember correctly.
Raphtalia seemed to be looking intently at the snake, which just flicked its tongue and moved its head, looking forward after glancing at Raphtalia.
As soon as they arrived at the church, the staff let them in, and they soon went to the Dragon Hourglass.
—Now, Naofumi, you need to approach the hourglass.
You said, and the boy agreed and went. As he approached, his shield created a beam of green light and connected to the hourglass, which then showed numbers in the corner of their vision.
—So it's almost here…
But your thoughts were interrupted by the footsteps of other people who soon called out.
—Wait a second, aren't those (name)?! Naofumi?
The group looked back and saw the other heroes accompanied by their parties—or rather, Motoyasu's party. You walked behind Naofumi and Raphtalia.
—What do you think you're doing here, Naofumi?
But he ignored him and walked forward, passing by Motoyasu and ignoring him.
—Hey, Sir Motoyasu is talking to you! Don't ignore him!
—Shut up! Your voice irritates the hell out of me!—you said while looking her in the eyes, along with your snake. Myne immediately became nervous and shut her mouth.
Soon, Motoyasu saw Raphtalia and tried to hit on her, but as soon as he did, you raised your hand, and a shock ran through Motoyasu's hand that was holding Raphtalia. He pulled his hands away, looking at the two of you. You placed a hand on Raphtalia's shoulder, guiding her to Naofumi, while also looking hatefully at Motoyasu, still without raising your voice.
—Touch her again, I swear you won't just get a simple shock…. Motoyasu…—you said his name with venom as you were leaving, but someone grabbed your wrist.
You looked at Itsuki. Naofumi and Raphtalia were ahead of where you were going. You stopped and looked at Itsuki.
—Look, (name), please listen to me….
He said in a calm voice. Ren was also looking at you, hoping you would have at least a little sympathy and listen to what they wanted to tell you. But the bitch spoke first.
—You shouldn't be hanging out with the Shield Hero, Miss (surname)! He's the devil! You're a heroine too, and you sh— —she stopped when you looked coldly at her, making her stop talking. You then looked at Itsuki, who was still holding you.
—Please, just listen to us… please, (surname)!
You pulled your wrist from his hand. Ren immediately went next, putting his hand on your shoulder while your back was turned. Your hands wandered to your open book, where you pressed some pages you had written about your friends. You tore them out, and they turned into blades pointed at Ren, who then removed his hand and looked surprised while the blades still shimmered with a jewel-like color. Everyone looked at you in surprise. Kabumaru was already hissing threateningly at the hero.
—Don't… touch… me… you scumbag.—And with that, you walked away. But when the princess was about to call you, you raised your hands, showing her the middle finger, and walked away. The pages that had turned into blades, as soon as you were out of sight, dissolved from blades back into slightly crumpled paper and fell slowly to the ground. All the heroes approached the pages, picking them up and observing the small drawing along with the name and notes.
Day 1 in the new world: I believe I can be friends with these guys. They're somewhat kind. I hope I don't regret this in the end. I don't want to lose trust in them…
Day 4: Are they stupid idiots?!! How can they not see it? Now I regret everything!
But before they could finish reading, the pages hardened, taking on the same color as before, and flew away to where you had gone, disappearing from sight now. Ren, who was holding the pages, looked into the distance as he saw them float away quickly. Itsuki just patted his shoulder. It seemed they couldn't talk here either.
I find it funny how Filo copies Naofumi's mannerisms. She is basically just his adoptive child, mini Naofumi.
