Dodging spikes flung from a manticore's tail (Jeff Dee cover for AD&D module S2: White Plume Mountain, by Lawrence Schick, TSR, 1980-81 edition)
You have manifested the ability to deploy a magic shield that protects you from harm! What form does it take?
blue visual that makes a "pshing" sound on contact
reflector field that bounces attacks back with a "bwom" sound
attacks just stop in midair when they hit my radius
incoming attacks hit a red effect that splinters the force into air around me
incoming attacks are intercepted by electric bolts like a plasma orb
disk of force that I summon with a hand gesture
disk of force that I move telekinetically
skintight energy layer that can flex but can't be breached
orb that I roll like a hamster ball
I just wear full plate armor everywhere
Can post this now! My drawing for our servers telephone game; the prompt this month was shield so I went with 'Rules shield spell from Zelda 2 ♡

Shield Spell
For protection in stressful situations
You will need:
One black candle
Matches or lighter
One 12 in length of string
One small, lockable box
Timing: work on a waning moon to turn anxiety aside, and on a Tuesday, day of defensive Mars
Cast a circle in accordance with your tradition
Light the candle saying: Banish my fears
Sit on the floor in the center of the circle, facing north. Close your eyes and slow your breathing, then clear your mind. When you are ready, visualize a shield protecting you from chin to knee. Tie a knot in the string.
No visualized more Shields overlapping to cover your sides, back, and head, and tie another not for each. Relax within your shield "shell", allowing yourself to feel secure and protected.
When you're ready, open your eyes and drip wax from the candle on to each not that you've tied.
Lock the knotted string in the box and keep it in a safe place. Whenever you feel the need to invoke your Shield, summon up the image of the shields covering and defending you.

Shield Spell
Shield spell against stress
Hey everyone! I got an idea of spell the other night, and since the new school year is beginning here (in Belgium) I thought that could be useful for all of us... Especially since this spell is customisable!
PS : English is not my first language, so, sorry if i make mistakes!
So this spell is about handling and relieving your stress by getting your work done (cause most spells I read are about stopping work a little while before starting again, and although it’s completely fine and healthy to take a break, sometimes you can’t afford it, so here it goes) :
First of all, BREATHE. Close your eyes, inhale deeply, exhale slowly, multiple times till you feel the stress diminish a little.
Then, ORGANISE : it’s the key for a low stress life. Make piles with your work in an empty room (and if you can’t physically do that, note what you have to do on little pieces of paper and go on) and place them (following clockwork) around you in order of emergency or importance, but allowing the place right in front of you to be empty. So at the end of this step, you should be surrounded by your work, except for what’s in front of you - trapped but with a way out. Remember this : there IS a way out!
Then, do your favorite witchy thing : either create a small incantation, a quick sigil, or place a candle for focusing, touch your favorite crystal, whatever pleases you : but create quickly a friendly environment inside the circle of work. This represents a shield repulsing stress and negative energy (like procrastination). Don’t hesitate to take a snack (your favorite candies or flavors; reminder that mint helps the mind to focus) and/or a bottle of water - those always help. Also, if this doesn’t distract you, put on some instrumental music (or white noises, or wax balls in your ears if you don’t want to be disturbed by sounds (do you know/have “boules Quiès”?). Make sure you have enough light to work.
Finally, empty your workspace - or work with the empty space of the circle - and get on with it. Go pile by pile, clockwork, and take a small break every hour or after every pile.
YOU CAN DO IT, LOVE!
