Little Lost Priestess
Something wasn't right. She'd been working her way toward the surface, spending nearly as much time avoiding the Drow patrols as she had actually moving, so she had a lot of experience with obsul'e. The permanent ones were always heavily guarded, usually in the middle of a city, while the ones that popped up in the passages were always a surprise. Sometimes you could tell when you were coming on one by a change in the air - a draft where one shouldn't be, a difference in scent, a glimmer of faer, whatever - but that wasn't a guarantee.
One thing she was absolutely certain of, though, was that obsul'e did not lead to metallic passages that were filled with more noise than a city, were so brightly lit she was instantly blinded upon arrival, and had enough guards that at last two squads - maybe more, she couldn't tell for sure through all the noise - could be deployed to arrest one lonely ilythiiri.

The detention report that landed on Agent Hill's desk was, as appropriate, a basic summary of the facts as known:
An alien being appeared from a ripple in the air, in one of the corridors near Mr. Stark's lab. The alien is humanoid, appears female, and has charcoal-colored skin, white hair, pointed ears, and amethyst eyes. Height is approximately 135 cm, weight approximately 40kg. When apprehended, she appeared to be blinded by the corridor lights. She was wearing a suit of chain armor and carrying a scythe, both of which were made of a black metal that corroded when sunlight hit them while she was being escorted to the brig. Her only other article of clothing is a silver necklace, with a pendant that looks like a skull holding a scroll in its jaws. She did not resist arrest or detention. She was provided with a jumpsuit until we found the gown and slippers in her backpack.
Subject is now sitting on the bunk in her cell, apparently meditating.
Contents of her backpack are as follows:
Sleeping bag, silk, stuffed with some kind of animal hair
Small box with one fishhook attached to 50' of silk line, five spare fishhooks, lead sinkers, a phosphorescent bobber, and a waxed paper envelope with worms in it
Rope, silk: 50'
Chalk, phosphorescent, ten pieces
Hammer
Pitons, four
Sacks, silk, two cubic feet
Tinderbox, with flint and steel
Medieval torch with silk bag covering one end
A dozen roller bandages, soaked in some kind of gel, stored in a wax-lined silk bag
Messkit, tin
Water skin
Pemmican and jerky, enough for one person for three days (it appears to be mostly made of fish)
Soap, two bars
Gown, purple, silk
Slippers, purple, silk
Box, made of bone or ivory, measures 4" tall by 4" deep by 12" wide. The lid slides in grooves etched in the sides. 1/2" holes are drilled at each end of the lid. Contents of the box are:
1/2" taper candles, twelve (two partially used)
Cloth, grey silk, 10" square
Scroll, covered with writing in an alphabet not in the helicarrier's files. Head of scroll is illumined with the same symbol as her pendant.
Dip pens, four
Ink, one bottle
Paper, coarse, legal, one doze rolls
Powder, approximately one half cup, in a silk bag (Note: analysis suggests it is a mixture of ashes and bone meal)
