From Anon: Shifting isn't real. This is unhealthy escapism. I mean this in the nicest way possible, but please seek help from someone you trust. Do you get off on this? What do you seek from doing this? Were you expecting me to just bow down after one anon? Look, I can understand that you don’t believe it’s real--and I’m not going to try to prove to you that it is--but really, it’s not your problem. It’s unproductive to be this negative, to hunt down a shifting blog and send them an ask like this.  Take religion for instance. What shifting and religion have in common is faith. Faith that it’s going to work out, under the Universe, God(s)’s, or the Godverse’s will. I believe in multiple gods, but I’m not going to go to, say, someone who believes in Christianity and tell them to get mental help because I believe in something else.  In this community, a large majority of us are minors having fun. I believe that shifting is serious, but you don’t have to. It’s not your responsibility to bother some minor on the internet to get help. You don’t know what they’re going through. Personally, shifting has helped me cope with the pandemic and my home life. You don’t have to believe it’s real, but please don’t send asks like this to me or any other shifting blog. All you’re doing is spreading unproductive negativity.  -Rome

Did you dissociate while trying to shift? Mistake a lucid dream for a shift? More dissatisfied with everyday life? Anything at all?

I don’t want people to feel like they can’t talk about their experiences, good or bad. The bad experiences are especially important.

People deserve to go to their DR. No matter how much trauma and horrible things they put in. How come y'all refere to shifting as "a journey" or an experience(which is obviously)but then judge others when they wanna experience certain things. It doesn't make sense

I do see how my post may have been confusing/poorly worded, so I want to clarify this: I never claimed that people don’t deserve to go to their DR. Your DR is precisely that...your desired reality. However, I personally don’t believe that it’s appropriate to treat traumatic events that you have not experienced as something fun, exciting, or as a “rite of passage”. They are not a trend. I am 100% fine with people using their trauma/shifting as coping mechanisms, because I do the same. 

I’m trying to think of a more concise and accurate way to phrase this: do not use trauma for “fun” if it is not yours. That’s all I meant. It’s hurtful to people who have experienced it, and it will be hurtful and traumatizing to you if you give yourself trauma on purpose.

warning for shifting doubts! but hi! i'm sorry if this is weird, but i was wondering if i could ask for any reassurance? i know your pinned post says you havent shifted, but do you know anyone who has? ive been trying for like a week now, but i havent managed it yet. lately ive gotten really worried that maybe everyone is playing a big prank and im being gullible. have you heard from people you trust who have shifted? i really want to believe, i just am worried what if im being foolish ):

I’m sure there are a few people here who have successfully shifted, like @girl-between-worlds! I’m certain there’s more as well, so @ shiftblr if any of y’all have shifted please interact with this post! 

Also: shifting mostly does take more than a week! Most people try it out for that long, then give up. Please don’t give up! Shifting is about dedication and trying!

Also, honestly I don’t think we as a society are smart enough to have a whole community be lying about shifting, especially since nobody knows each other and there is literally no purpose for anyone to be lying about this (I think). /pos

So I exaggerated for the point of the joking comparison, as that’s typically what one does when making a comparison where the “punchline” is what the group/thing/person being talked about is actually like versus what the first part talked about them being like

I can’t recall shifting or shifters being called toxic with that exact word, but we have been called mentally ill, insane, freaks as you just showed, etc. and people expressed distaste for us so I was just picking a word with negative connotation that would work for the contrast.

I was just trying to make an amusing comparison about the amount of distaste we get versus what was actually happening in the community and going to the extremes on both sides. Tbh the audience wasn’t really meant to be people outside the shifting community here bc we’d understand what I was talking about on our side the most than an outsider hahsjsj

And yes yes I know that post makes me look like a “uwu shifting can do no wrong” person and I’m sorry lmfaoo no I don’t think that badly of people who don’t believe and no I don’t think the shifting community is that entirely pure it was a joke please hajdhsksj
