hi!! i'm rather new to the whole concept of shifting actually but i'd say that by now i'm fairly familiar with most shifting-related terms. i've heard that meditation really helps?? my doubt is, just how do i meditate with the intention to shift? i mean, i've never meditated before so i'll probably sound like a dunce lol. but how exactly do you meditate? like what kind of thoughts should i be having/avoiding while meditating? do i need to be in a quiet space? do i need to listen to subs or theta waves when meditating? what mindset should i be having? do i need to control my breathing? what else should i give importance to for meditating? i hope i was able to get this through well >.< thank you so much!
Hello!! And yes meditation (among other things) is what i suggest to people before who are just getting into the whole idea of shifting and spirituality in general.
Because you seem new, i don't think you would have to worry about meditating with the intention of shifting, just try plain old meditation. However when you get to that point, once you reach a meditative state, use a effective shifting method while meditating!
There are A LOT of ways to meditate, simply going on a calm walk with some nice music can be meditation! So if you have trouble with the "criss cross legs and humming" type of meditation, try starting of with that. Im sure there are also ADHD friendly methods too.
Also guided meditations are your BEST FRIEND omg i loved using them when meditating. I know a lot of people have trouble sitting in silence, and dont know what they're supposed to do, so this way you are literally being told what you need to think (there's actually one on netflix thats pretty good)
In regards to what not to and to think while meditating, you might be overthinking it lol. If you have thoughts pass your mind that's fine! The point isnt to have your mind empty, it's for it to be calm! I know a lot of people say to "clear your mind" but take that with a grain of salt. Imagine seeing every thought you think going by on a highway or a river, all you have to do is watch them pass.
And also, you dont need a quiet space or anything like that! I know people who meditate with a bunch of noises in the background, bc its easier and normal to them. And like a said before, you dont really need anything but your mind! We all meditate in different ways so its fine if your way isnt the way you see everyone else do.
And i think guided meditations will do a lot of good for you, but there really is no right or wrong way to control your breathing. Dont put too much thought on "should i do this or that" just vibe (i know its easier said than done just bear with me lmao)!
Like most things, meditation takes time. You might not feel things on your first time, just keep going! After you get the hang of it, try incorporating shifting into it! Put some affirmations in there, or maybe a shifting subliminal, whatever you feel necessary.
I hope this answers your question, and good luck!!
