i know ur probably getting tired of asks related to this sort of discourse. but there's gotta be some kind of innate fictophobia in a lot of the "plural allies" we meet being proship. like youre gonna look at me being a fictional character and tell me fiction doesnt have an effect on people?

Side note: there has to be a better way to discuss the “fiction affects reality” debate. Because fiction does have an impact on reality, but at the same time it’s not that important in the grand scheme of things.

I avoid shipping discourse for my own personal comfort and I also refuse to use my literature-philosophy degrees to solve fandom related moral dilemmas. Never come to me thinking I'll provide something insightful about it based on my field of studies. This will be literally the only time I will mention shipping discourse on my blog, but I am morbidly curious on how anybody will accommodate for me, the guy who ships quantum theories. Problematic conceptual aversion gap. Problematic PhilPapers paper count gap.

btw my shipcourse stance is. Dont be public about the weird shit you consume if you really are doing it for your own sake + Its not a good idea to consume it because it will have a normalizing effect in your brain and inevitably make your limits/morals less rigid (dangerous!) + Dont tell minors they deserve trauma or suibait them for doing these things because theyre likely to be victims doing self harmful stuff + I dont want to listen to your nasty headcanons + Censorship is inevitably gonna fuck up more minorities and plain basic information so unfortunately we will kinda have to learn to avoid these things instead of banishing them

but also. do Not involve me in it at all 🙏 i will shrimp myself. i block propiss/compiss/dorkpiss/antipiss accounts on sight for my sake

and regardless of what side you're on, you do not deserve to be told to die. It's horrible to tell anyone to die over anything, let alone something that is essentially fandom discourse.

(That's part of why I refuse to be on either side of shipcourse, tbh--it's all so black and white and very hostile when you don't exactly 100% agree with what someone says.)

huh on twitter there are so many posts on my tl about how you cannot academically explain being "proship" or an "anti". i sure hope nobody tried to make an academic paper explaining why being a proshipper is actually woke
