The long view! ❤️ . . As I’ve shared this space, I’ve received so many questions about the decor, so I thought I’d share a few deets with you. . . Most of these items were purchased while we were building #thepondsfarmhouse And most are repurposed. . . . The barn door was an antique find and we have no history on the piece but it’s probably the most unique find we incorporated into our home. My Valentines gift from last year was the architectural piece above the door and the crowing touch. I can’t believe I’ve had it less than a year 😱😱 and , no they were not purchased together. . . The coffee table and the gas can lamp were found @chartreusebarn and we love how Steve repurposed these pieces. The table is wood from the actual barn and the legs are made from recycled industrial metals that still have a faded John Deere green finish. . . The sofa is new (well 2 1/2 yrs) 😉. It from the Trisha Yearwood line @klaussnerhomefurnishings and the pillows are by @rahrags 😜😜 . . Thanks so much for your interest in our finds. Color or neutral? Which do you prefer? 😍 . . My problem is I love both ❤️. Since building our farmhouse, I’ve enjoyed having a very neutral backdrop. Most everything is either natural wood, shades of white, grey or black. 🤗 . . I shared last week how soothing I find that neutral color pallet. However, I placed the red ticking pillows back on the sofa and can’t seem to put them away either. 😱😱 . . The good news is with a neutral backdrop I can change my color scheme on a whim. 🤪 . . The Christmas Tree dilemma! 🎄🎄 . . Real tree or faux tree? 🎄This year I was concerned that finding a real tree to fit in this grape gathering container could be a problem. 😱😱. So I decided to play it safe and ordered this cutie from @balsamhill ❤️❤️. . . I love how perfectly it fits and the vintage shiny brites really do steal the show on this simple tree. . . You know I’m not one for a traditional look. I always want something unique! I am so happy with how this corner came together. . . I used additional faux trees, vintage shiny brite ornament boxes, garland and a real diy cedar wreath to fill in around the trunk and ladder. . . I still have my real cedar tree in the loft. We have cut one from our pasture each Christmas since moving to the Ponds. I’ll be sure to share that tree before the holidays are over. . . Which do you prefer? Real or faux? The chippy church pew! . . One of my favorite pieces! I’ve had it for over 20 years and the paint is original. The amber bottles were salvaged from junk piles by my father in law during his many years hiking through the woods, working as a property surveyor. The Ponds est. 1953 . . I made the tea towel just after we moved here. Still wish I could ask my dad what inspired him to begin this project. . . He built 3 Ponds, a cabin, boat house and pier. Added a parking area and picnic tables for people to come fish. . . It was a dream place when I was a child and I never dreamed that I would get to live here one day. . . After this past weekend’s storms we realize the monumental task of maintaining this property and continuing my dad’s vision. . . We have been restoring the property for 12 years and have been living here full time for 2 years. One weekends storm threatened all the hard work that’s been done here since 1953. For the most part we were spared and are so thankful. . . Happy Wednesday 😍 . . Working hard this week! Getting ready for Mother’s Day Weekend❤️. My mom is 97 and we are planning a cookout here at the Ponds. So lots of outdoor work. . .
