A+ April 1986
Telecommunications got another runaround in this issue; the software guide also happened to mention programs for the Macintosh. A new online service specifically for Apple dealers, AppleLink, was described. The article on CD-ROMs included a picture of a drive hooked up to an Apple IIe, although the drive looked to be larger than that computer. While Maggie Canon's editorial mentioned she'd "made a wager in a recent editorial that Steve Jobs would return to assume a useful role at Apple Computer," she now had to mention he'd "stormed out with five employees and Apple promptly filed a lawsuit to protect technology developed at Apple." She could, though, also mention "the fourth quarter of 1985 was Apple's most profitable ever" (due to "streamlined operation and effective cost cutting") and "the other Steve, the Woz" had "recently reinvested in Apple, reportedly to the tune of $5 million."
