Set in a high fantasy kind of world, the MC is a disgraced noble, heir to a now ruined throne running away from rebellion in their kingdom to seek refuge in the next kingdom over. To get there, they have to cross a forest yay
while doing so, they come across a boarding house / hospital . they're not alone and are joined by seven others , all stitched up or dawning ball joints and matching button eyes.
The MC survives the inhabitants and the hospital for a year , but the inhabitants are the least of their worries compared to the Mistress. A sadistic witch practicing her talent , the forbidden ancient art of puppetry.
In the end there would be 5 bad endings , 3 good endings , and one true ending .
Features probabllyyyy around 20 hours as an IF, a week's worth of gameplay as a VN , a month as a full on horror game (its a big fucking game)

The game would be more focused on learning about each of the characters, who they are, their stories, and developing relationships with them. There's a couple, Iridessa and Griffin who've been there the longest, Iridessa having had an emergency only for the Mistress to pretend to help the young couple. In return for their eyes, souls, and overall humanity. They were both humans, young and foolish (not romancable, but parent figures if played right) A young man, Alistair, avoidant and timid who knew nothing but being used his whole life. the Mistress bought him, a lowly wood elf amongst a rich human kingdom, and made him work. eventually, he broke. so she fixed him.
Twins, a girl named Dolly as that's all she's ever known. From the age of seven, she joined her sister Svetlana in eternal limbo as a doll. She didn't want to be alone so she begged the Mistress to reunite them (not romancable) Svetlana, a young woman who sought refuge for herself and her sister from a human attack on her grove.. lore undecided blah blah, she's very aggressive but also very sweet. (romancable poly Alistair ONLY)
and two characters i dont have enough on yet-
idea in the works for how the hospital came to be ~ mayhaps it started as a real place to help people, an outpost built by the Mistress's mother, and the Mistress thought to use puppetry to save travelers to injured to go on. They did, but eventually the Mistress went mad with power and hence became the current state of the place
