Consider: shockfire with skyfire corruption arc. Because if it's in the name of science, I think it would be easier to draw skyfire over to morally questionable ground. Especially since, unlike Starscream, Shockwave has no malice towards the organics. Only inquiry. Inquiry to the point of destruction, yes. But not malice.
