todoroki is a very perceptive person. he often studies his surroundings, becoming adept and aware of the slightest changes.
that's why when you come home that day, with your shoulders slumped and the usual smile on your face looking forced, he already knew something's wrong.
he's sitting at his desk, doing some work but once he saw you, he immediately got up and approached you.
"welcome home," his soft voice was like music to your ears and you drop your bag to walk into his embrace.
it was a long day for you, far more exhausting than what you usually go through and it just took a toll on you.
of course todoroki notices your fatigue so he would ask you to sit down first, offering you a glass of your favorite drink.
he'd gaze at you as you take a sip, tilting his head as he reaches to brush your hair.
"do you want to talk about it?" is his first question.
if you say yes, then he's all ears, listening intently and sometimes giving you advice on what to do and what not to do next time.
if you choose not to, then he would simply nod, saying that he understands.
after that, todoroki would just hold your hand and pull you close knowing that you're about to collapse right then and there.
he'd position you to his left side where he could keep you warm as you wrap your arms around him.
he'd let you snuggle close, keeping his chin on top of your head while his hand slowly runs down from your hair to your back.
it's his way of comforting you.
cuddles with todoroki are warm not only because of his quirk but also because of the amount of love that he pours whenever you're around him.
at first he wasn't very affectionate. he was hesitant to be so close to you like this. but he soon eased up and came to love it as much as he loves you.
todoroki is secretly very happy knowing that you feel comforted by his presence.
you always tell him how much you love him and his hugs that it always seems to take your pain and exhaustion away.
so whenever todoroki knows that you're tired, he'd always welcome you with open arms. no other words are exchanged, just the silent acknowledgement that you do need his hug and that he wants to comfort you in the way he's best at.
cuddling with todoroki often ends up with you falling asleep in his arms.
in this way, he admires your face and runs his thumb across your cheeks.
and in the countless times that you've done this, you always miss the way todoroki gives you the most content smile he has as he kisses your forehead and wishes for you to have a good sleep.
