I think the reason I like the idea of Azula being dombroken and forced into a submissive role is because thats exactly what she wants too.
She wants to be the cute, pretty armpiece, the pillow princess who gets stared at and gawked at, the one who gets restrained and tied up for being too mouthy...
But she can't let herself go to trust anyone enough for that, that they won't tie her up and leave her for dead, toss her out when the season changes and a new accessory is in chic.
Azula needs someone to kick her to her knees and force her to understand that they want to have her, to keep her, to tame her.
Azula feels insecure in every relationship she has because she thinks people only like her for her usefulness or her looks or her power, so she goes to Mai who is more than eager to take all of those things away from her with cruel precision, just to prove to Azula that she'll still love her

Aang, Sokka, and Zuko have a competition to decide who should truly have the harem of girls in the show.
Naturally the girls find out about this and before they know it, the trio become the harem they always wanted...
Sokka, Katara, Zuko, and Azula have a minecraft server and Azula and Sokka make ornate builds and crazy farms and Katara and Zuko live in a dirt hut and steal their stuff (zuko just likes mining and kataras just bad at video games)
Very much a darkfic idea but...
I kind of want to see a fake redemption for Azula, she tries so hard to do better and help Zuko and become a better person, only for him to reveal he was using her all along to achieve some goal, just like she had done to Long Feng in Ba Sing Se, he had made her whole world a lie and now he's just going to toss her aside... Her status as a person drops and despair fills her as she realises that now she was never really a player.
