"Metamorphic Bricks"
A more detailed view of Si Phum Corner. It looks like places have sunk, making the layers wavy, which reminded me of banded metamorphic rock.

"Party Pooper Proclamation"
I'd much rather pay the $400 fine than spend 6 months in jail, but I wouldn't bother risking either after seeing this sign. Good to know! You can buy alcohol just outside of this zone, so I'd hate to be the uninformed tourist that wanders into the wrong place, at the wrong time, with a drink in hand. (I rarely drink anymore anyway) These sings are posted in the "old city" confined by the moat seen in previous photos.

"Rooftop Buddha"
This one was hard to miss, the large, golden Buddha peeking over the rooftops drew me in, but there's so many temples in this part of Chiang Mai, that I visited one, and saw a few more before I got to this one, which wasn't very far to begin with. "Wat Chiang Yuen is a Buddhist temple in Chiang Mai, Thailand, located north of the Old City, about 600 metres (2,000 ft) east of Wat Lok Moli. First built in 1500s, Lanna kings historically paid homage to the Phra Suppunyu Chao Buddha image at the temple before their coronation. The temple was abandoned during Burmese rule, and was reconstructed in 1794 by King Kawila." -Wikipedia
