These Sichuan Spicy Vegan Wontons are a delicious and satisfying dish with a spicy kick. The filling is made with tofu and napa cabbage, seasoned with Sichuan peppercorns and chili oil, and served in a flavorful vegetable broth.
Ingredients: 1 pack of vegan wonton wrappers. 1 cup of finely chopped napa cabbage. 1/2 cup of crumbled firm tofu. 2 cloves of garlic, minced. 2 tablespoons of soy sauce. 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. 1 tablespoon of Sichuan peppercorns, toasted and ground. 1 teaspoon of chili oil adjust to taste. 1/2 teaspoon of grated ginger. 1/4 cup of chopped green onions. 1/4 cup of vegetable broth. Salt and pepper to taste. Chopped cilantro for garnish.
Instructions: Cut up the napa cabbage and put it in a large bowl. Add the crumbled tofu, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, Sichuan peppercorns, chili oil, grated ginger, and chopped green onions. Combine well. Place a wonton wrapper on the table and fill it with a small amount of the filling. Wet your finger and run it along the edges of the wonton wrapper. To make a triangle, fold the wrapper in half and press the edges together to seal. Do it again with the rest of the filling and wrappers. Add a little salt to water in a big pot and bring it to a boil. Add the wontons slowly to the boiling water. Cook for three to four minutes, or until they float to the top. Make the sauce while the wontons are cooking. Add salt and pepper to taste and heat the vegetable broth in a different saucepan. With a slotted spoon, move the wontons to serving bowls after they are done cooking. Add the hot vegetable broth to the wontons and top them with chopped cilantro. Sichuan Spicy Vegan Wontons are ready to eat right away.
