Thomas wrapping the sick noodle up in a fluffy blanket and letting the noodle rest his head in Thomas’ lap, after he makes sure the sick one has eaten some soup of course. Slowly all the sides and the main figments come to check on them both before it turns into a family cuddle pile with a smiling noodle at the center of it.

Homemade Soup

well todays prompt predicted my lunch for the day apparently thanks @loveceit

I have zero clue what I’m about to write, this will be interesting

“Dinnertime.” Virgil called, knocking on Logan’s door before opening it. 

Logan had mentioned the day before that Deceit was unwell and staying with him, but when Remus claims he’s doing science they need Logic on guard to stop any disasters leaving Thomas with a migraine. That’s why Virgil had taken over looking after the other side, well that and a moment of anxious concern being sent to the imagination distracting Roman from protesting.

“I don’t like broccoli.” Deceit glared at the bowl being brought over, before blinking at Virgil’s snicker.

“That’s why I made you some chicken and mushroom before Pat could get into the kitchen. He hid the blender though so I’ve done my best to cut everything into manageable pieces and smush it into as smooth a soup as I was able.” Virgil rambled a little, perching on the bed beside where Dee lay. 

The quiet grumbling and shuffling a little higher on the bed was all the response he received at first before arms were crossed. “Are you wanting me to feed you, Snek?”

“Hat’s uncomfortable when I’m laying like this.” The reply wasn’t an answer but was easily resolved by Virgil nabbing the hat to wear it himself. 

“Is that better?” Virgil teased a little, already filling the spoon ready to feed if given the chance.

As Deceit tried to speak he instead took the bite of soup, glancing at the bowl  before trying to take it himself. “Can do this myself.”

Virgil was a little preoccupied as the gloved hand almost knocked the bowl over instead of grasping it. He’d had to move quickly to keep the bowl steady and avoid spilling the soup or the hand ending up covered in it. 

Sure the soup was already a safe temperature to eat comfortably but it’s still a bad idea to spill hot soup over anyone especially when Deceit was already sick. Instead of handing it over though, he placed the bowl on the beside table. “I’m sure you can, but let’s sit you up first.” He nodded, easily helping the other into a better position.

“You make good soup.” Dee muttered after being given the bowl, trying to ignore the vigilant gaze watching every time he raised the spoon.

“That’s a self compliment considering you taught me how to.” Virgil bounced back, smiling at the moment of contemplation as Deceit tried to remember doing so.

A lot had changed since they were young and teaching each other things they learnt with Thomas, but now was good. They could look after each other again.

Deceit is rarely sick. But when he is, he regresses into his snake form and can’t change back. So he has to slither around and look for things in the house to treat his cold. He tries to deal with it alone because he’s good at it but the other Dark Sides are aware of what happens when he’s ill and they always step in to help. They bring him medicine and food. They run temper-sensitive baths for him and help him wash up so nothing goes wrong. They all form a pillow fort with heatable blankets to keep him comfortable and warm. Deceit makes noticeable snake noises when he’s in pain, so they always have at least one Dark Side by him at all times to gently stroke him until it subsides. His little snake coughs and sneezes are adorable. Though sadly it means his fever hasn’t broken.

However long Deceit stays sick varies. But the Dark Sides can usually tell when it’s almost over because Deceit will usually slither towards one of them while they’re under the pillow fort they stay under until he’s better and wrap around one of their necks to cuddle. Deceit always tries to keep his distance when he’s like this to avoid making them sick as well. So they all breathe a sigh of relief whenever which lucky Side gets Deceit’s “love-coil” this time. It’s even more relieving when Deceit nuzzles his snake face against one of their cheeks and whispers, “Thank you.” His speech is back, meaning he’s slowly on his way to shifting back into his human form soon and his cold is almost gone. Also, it doesn’t hurt to hear their big brother express his gratitude for being taken care of every time his health has recovered. It fills them with pride. And warm fuzzies.

More sandersides Groupchat??? Maybe we could get more context for the whole sick Janus thing

I intend to keep that a secret until Thomas finds out (a chapter after SvS, which is close) so I’ll probably be vague unless it becomes a warning issue or if someone figures it out on tumblr (someone has kind of guessed it on ao3) but let’s just say Janus is on some pretty strong treatments and, thankfully, he has good people looking after him.

But basically, Janus has had this before and he beat it but it came back and only his Dice, his therapist, Remus, Virgil, and Orange (if he ever gets introduced) know actually know what it is and the light sides and even the shorts characters only have a vague idea because Janus doesn’t trust them and nobody that knows will tell them because Janus wants to keep it a secret for as long as possible.

Two or three more chapters or so and we get a reveal why Janus is ‘sick’. Until then, I’m hoping to keep dropping more and more hints every chapter.

You asked for sick dee hc. So I though how about when Dee is sick with a cold or has a fever but instead of feeling really warm he feels like he is very cold so he tries to get back under his many blankets but the others won’t let him and than maybe Thomas is like come snakey we can cuddle. Or Dee is just overly cuddly when sick while normal Thomas asks for cuddles and such Deceit actually asks for them or just lays or sits on Thomas without saying anything just cuddling closer. Hope you like it

When Deceit gets sick most of it is him sitting on his boyfriend’s lap (or best friend if you don’t ship) and just being a whiny toddler all week “Dee are you ok?” *whining noises of miserableness and hides face in their shoulder* “Fine I’ll get you a damn juice box” And whoever he is clinging to can’t get rid of him. He just needs hugs cuddles and love. And if anyone else tries to take care of him he hisses and throws a fit like a five year old being dropped of at school -💝

Sorry for the spam but I had another one. Maybe Thomas tries making soup for Deceit but it doesn’t goed well and he gets upset but Dee tells him it’s okay and tells him he can just but some later and to cuddle him instead now. Or Virgil and Remus take care of a tired and sick snake who tries to fight them and take care of them and Thomas but they keep their ground and make him relax. Again sorry for the spam hope you like it and few a bit better! You are amazing and love your work!!

aw hahaha, Deceit being a stubborn sick snake and going a bit extra overboard with taking care of everyone, until they have to pretty much lie on top of him in bed to keep him from moving XD
