Kaneki = Black Reaper Kaneki
Summary: Hide is sick and Ken decides to take care of the omega.
Hide comes home late from work. The others should be asleepby now, so they luckily won’t have to deal with Hide. He struggles to get histie off and slings it onto the recliner. The omega feels hot. Extremely hot. It’snot his heat, thankfully, but that still doesn’t change the problem at hand. Thismorning Hide woke up with a small headache and sore eyes. His skin felt alittle clammy, but it was nothing a hot shower couldn’t fix. Hide chalked it upto a hangover. Last night, Ken made it his mission that they all celebrate Hidegetting a new job at a music store, thus Hide ended up becoming a bit drunk.Hide will admit that he felt a bit off last night as well but disregarded it asnothing. Now, Hide regrets doing so.
He undoubtedly has a fever and is sweating bullets. Hisstomach feels like its perpetually twisting in knots and doing leaps. Hide’s throatis sore from all the coughing and it’s made eating and drinking a bit painfulto do. When Hide sheds his shirt, it feels soaked from sweat. He tosses saidshirt on the floor. His head is pounding, and his vision is getting blurry asthe seconds pass. Hide can feel his legs wobble. The strength in them is fadingfast. If he can just make it to the couch, he’d be fine.
But things are never that easy, are they?
Hide hardly recognizes the sound of footsteps coming towardshim.
“Hide, that you?” A deep voice asks. “Welcome home. Youshould’ve called me or one of the others to come pick you up.”
Hide jumps and spins around. Regret fills Hide’s mind aswhatever vision he has left goes away. The omega’s legs buckle beneath him.
“Oy! Hide! What’s wrong!?” A far away voice is calling tohim. Hide faintly feels tense muscles crashing against his body instead ofhitting the ground. “It’s okay. I’ve got you, Hide.”
The blond would respond but there’s not enough strength inhim to do so.
“No…I…’ve…ou…..hef…” Broken words enter Hide’s ears as heslowly comes to. He feels like he’s been run over by a train followed by a bulldozer.Shit is the best choice of word to use. Hide feels like shit.
“I said I can take care of him myself.” Ken’s voice growls.Hide smells the protective scent of an alpha. There’s a dip beside Hide’s body onthe bed. Ken is lying beside the omega.
“And I don’t doubt that, but I want to help him too.” Haise’svoice sounds close by.
“You helped him when you let him leave for work today. Itold you something was off about him.” Ken grumbles.
Hide feels a hand carding through his hair. Something wet istaken off of his forehead and being replaced by a cool, wet material. Hide makesa satisfied noise at the relief the object was giving him. Lips press againstHide’s cheeks from both sides. His alphas are here and ready to cater to hisevery need.
“Don’t even go there with me, Ken.” Haise’s voice soundslower so not to disturb Hide’s rest. “I asked him multiple times if he was okayand each time he said he was. I trusted him to know his limits.”
“Well you shouldn’t have. Hide’s never been the best attaking care of his own health. That’s Hide rule number one.” Ken says.
Hide can hear himself breathing. It’s heavy with a hint of laborious. The omega can imagine that his face is flushed.
“You should be getting onto Hide instead of me.” Haiseclicks his tongue.
“Oh, don’t you worry. I definitely am. I’m going to kick hisass for shaving twenty years off my life.” Ken promises. It takes everythingHide has not to shudder.
There’s a long pause between them. They’re probablyconversing through stares like they sometimes do. Whatever they disclose toeach other makes Haise sigh in defeat.
“Fine but come get me if you need help.” Haise’s footstepshead towards the door.
“I can finally have some bonding time with my little pup.Don’t wait up.” Ken teases. This earns the alpha a huff and the door closes. There’sa beat of silence. “He’s gone, Hide, you can open your eyes.”
“How did you?” Hide’s blushing, making his face even morered.
“I’m the leader of a notorious gang. You think some amateurcan fool me? You’ll have to try harder than that, sweetie.” Ken smirks at Hide’spout.
“You-ah!” Hide yelps when Ken flicks him in the forehead.
“Baby boy don’t think that just because you’re sick I’mgoing to let you off the hook. I’m not that nice of a man.” A rumble comes fromKen’s chest. A growl.
Hide rubs his forehead and shrinks into the covers. Maybe ifhe submits, Ken will leave him alone?
“Oh no you don’t.” Ken says and pulls Hide up to hisprevious spot. “Now explain. Why did you think it was such a good idea to go towork feeling like shit?”
“I was and am still fine.” Hide tries.
“I’m not sure if you’re testing me or making a joke. Youhonestly think I’ll believe that after what happened a few hours ago? Tryagain.”
“I am-“ Hide’s words get stuck in his throat when Ken rolls ontop of the omega and hovers there. Nose to nose with the blond. Ken’s eyesgazing into Hide’s. The alpha is resting his weight on his arms that are bracedon either side of Hide’s head.
“Say that again. Tell me you’re fine, one more time.” Ken’sscent is issuing a warning. Hide’s face feels hot and not from the fever. He’snever experienced Ken so intensely before. This is a very strong alpha.Stronger than the others. He’s killed people. He’s ordered people to killothers. If he wanted to, Ken could end Hide. This is also the same alpha Hidegrew up idolizing. Ken has always taken care of Hide, and it’s still the sameeven now. Maybe not the idolizing part, though.
“I…uh…I’m…” Hide’s voice trails off. Ken leans forward and drylips kiss Hide’s forehead. The omega barely has time to register this before thoselips disappear. Hide can’t help but feel disappointed.
“One hundred one degrees.” Ken states.
“What?” Hide says a bit dazed.
“That’s your temperature. Your fever isn’t something tobrush off as nothing.”
“You got that exact temperature from kissing my forehead?”Hide asks.
‘What can I say? I’m good.” Ken wags his brows to implysomething else. Hide rolls his eyes and curses. That was a bad idea. “Okay, sono more eye rolling.”
“You think?” Hide groans. “It’s like the whole world isspinning.”
“Do you want anything? Water? Blanket? Snuggle bug?” Kenasks.
“Snuggle bug?” Hide arches a brow.
“I hear omegas get better sooner when snuggling with theiralpha. I think it’s because of their scents and stuff. It relaxes them andmakes sleeping easier.” Ken has a huge grin.
“Uh-huh. Right. And what makes you think that you’re myalpha, let alone that I’d feel better snuggling with you?” Hide challenges. Hisvoice sounds awful but it’s not hard to hear the sass.
“Just a feeling.” Ken says. It’s then that Hide realizesthat Ken is still on top of him.
“Get off of me.” Hide grunts, shoving Ken back. He hatesthat there’s a playful glint in Ken’s eyes. The omega has given chase to aninterested alpha.
Ken crawls down before letting himself lay on Hide. His fullweight is pressing down on the omega, still careful of Hide being sick. Arms wraparound the blond, and the alpha nuzzles his face into Hide’s stomach.
“Get off you overgrown mutt!” Hide complains.
“No. This is your punishment for going out while you weresick.” Ken says and makes himself more comfortable on Hide.
“You’re so annoying.” Hide groans and looks up at theceiling.
“Seriously.” Hide looks down at Ken when the alpha’s voicebecomes serious. “Don’t ever scare me like that again. I can’t stand thethought of something happening to you. Tell me when you feel horrible like this,so I can take care of you – so I can help.”
“Promise me.” Ken’s voice is borderline desperate. His eyes boringinto Hide’s.
“I promise.” Ken lets out a sigh of relief once he’s surethat Hide will uphold his promise.
“You’re horrible for my health.” He mutters.
Hide runs his fingers through the alpha’s hair. It’s sosoft. Ken approves of the action with a gentle hum. He buries his face backinto the omega’s stomach and the scent in the room becomes one of comfort andsafety. Ken won’t let anyone, or anything hurt Hide while he rests. The omegacan’t help but relax at that security and love.
The heat from Ken’s body is soaked up by Hide. The omega canfeel Ken’s fingers drawing patterns in the small of his back.
“Kaneki ran out to get medicine and will be back any minutenow. Go ahead and get some rest anyways. You need every bit of it.” Ken murmursinto Hide’s stomach.
“I’ll be here when you wake up. I know you sometimes getnightmares when you have fevers. I’m not going anywhere.” Ken promises.
“Thank you…” Hide smiles sweetly and makes himself comfortable.Ken allows Hide to adjust around before laying back on him, face in stomach.
Fatigue captures Hide soon after. Perhaps Ken’s tale ofomegas feeling better with their alphas isn’t so farfetched after all. Hidewill never admit that though.
That Hide is accepting Ken as his alpha.
