hi there! I saw your comment on the post about the AI scrape. with modelscope, you mentioned there were a couple of websites’ datasets still uploaded there. was one of the datasets from side7? were a super tiny community so I don’t think people really notice or care about us, but I’m trying to track down the places our stolen dataset was uploaded to if I can.

As far as I know regarding the person who uploaded the ao3 content to the websites, no I haven’t seen side7 as one of their uploads. It’s just piczel and itaku from what I can tell. Having said that someone else may have uploaded it to the website. If you wish to check it out for yourself, it’s modelscope.cn

My Side7 Account got deleted in January 31st also, I have Furtastic Account Now!

Emeraldia the Cat is leaving Side7 in 2023 because of Trollbait. “I will be Deleting Side7 Account on January 31st, 2024!” She moved to Furtastic in 2024 and Palpatine Panda saying “What are you From, Kitty!” Emeraldia said. “I came from Side7 because of Drama!” The Kitty will be Enjoying her new Life in 2024!

Emeraldia-the-Kitty was moved from Side7 in 2023 to Furtastic in 2024.

well. I will do my best to keep this brief. (this post is about deviantart.)

I have been on dA for a very, very long time. I joined sometime around 2008 and have stuck with it through a lot of major ups and downs. I mostly believe them when they say they've reversed this recent decision and are doing their best to do right by users, but also... straw that broke the camel's back and all that.

I'm not deleting my dA because there's a lot of history for me there. I was already not very active there, only logging on every couple of months to post something (and not keeping up with anyone that I was watching, sadly), but now I think I'm going to stop making the effort to post there at all. this feels kind of sad because it truly marks the end of an era, even though I lowkey feel like it's been a long time coming at this point. so, what does this mean for my art? here's the sitch.

obviously, I will continue to post here on tumblr. if this is the only place you follow me, no reason to worry.

I also stumbled upon a tiny little gallery site called Side7. It's been here since all the way back to 1993 apparently? it seems very small and very quiet, but honestly, maybe it will be nice to post things somewhere that numbers don't really matter. I'm here, if you want to check it out.

and even though the feedback I've heard on it has been a touch shaky, I've also joined Inkblot. I'm really going to try to give it a heck of a shot. my new account is here, come say hi if you'd like, I'm going to be doing my best to follow & engage with other art that I like.

I checked Side7 before going to bed today and, uh, it’s down. Possibly for good, given that there hadn’t been any news updates in at least a year. That’s a real bummer...
