Reggie had barely slept, or at least that’s what it felt like. He’d been far too excited at what could await him in the morning that his mind had buzzing when he tried so hard to fall asleep.

Decidedly, he’d gotten up early to get breakfast ready before Luke woke up. It was difficult for him to not let his mind wander and keep focus as he sipped at his coffee, checking the food every so often.

They had talked about getting a pet and he knew it was wishful thinking but he hoped with so much might that maybe his Christmas wish would come true.

When the food was done, he switched things off and plated up before going to wake his boyfriend up, tiptoeing into the bedroom with cup of coffee in hand, setting it down on the nightstand before sitting on the edge of the bed where the Luke sized lump ended to allow him some space. Leaning down, he pressed a kiss to his forehead. “Time to wake up, sleepyhead,” he said gently, practically beaming with a bright smile.

“You think?”

Julie Molina couldn’t help but roll her eyes, trying to read the almost useless scribble in Luke’s notebook. She turned it sideways, then the other way, and even upside down.

“It’s like morse code or something!” She exclaimed, looking over at Luke from her perch on the couch. The band had been hiding in the garage from the constant rain outside, writing songs and practicing where they could.”CeCe, you can read Dad’s handwriting. Can you read this?” She shot at her cousin.

CeCe looked up from the piano where she was practicing beside Reggie. She scoffed. “I’ve tried. He makes Tío’s handwriting look like calligraphy.” She joked, shaking her head and turning the page on the sheet music in front of her.

Julie laughed. “It’s official Luke, your handwriting is illegible. We need a new song writer.” She joked with her fellow bandmate, leaning back against the couch and chuckling, tossing the notebook back to him.

Luke startled a little when he felt lips against his, his eyes shoot open and he wasn’t as surprised as he should be when he noticed that it was Reggie that stood in front of him. His hands moved from his side and to Reggie’s waste, pulling him close as he gave into the kiss and kissed him back.

“Dude! Chill your beans for a sec, alright?” 

Usually, it was Alex that broke out into all the pacing and freaking out - Luke knew how to deal with that. Reggie, on the other hand, was a different beast altogether.

Alex was hanging out with Willie, and Julie was at school, so it was just the two of them in the studio. They had been jamming away together and everything was fine. At least it was, until Reggie got the notion to search for a piece of music he had written down in his old notebook from the 90s. Apparently it was going to be the perfect bridge to lead the new song into its hook and chorus.

Luke was so focused on fiddling with the strap of his guitar that he didn’t even realise Reggie getting more and more panicky until it was too late. It was about the point when Luke got a t-shirt thrown haphazardly in his direction that he glanced up. Reggie was throwing stuff left, right and centre, looking for the notebook, his mumbling growing more and more incomprehensible with each passing moment.

It was purely born from instinct. Luke’s hands were on Reggie’s shoulders before he even registered his own movement, forcing him to look him dead in the eyes.

“Reg, man, we will find it. I know how important it is to you. It must be somewhere here in the studio, so just breathe, alright?”

“Gil, ya have ta arch yer wrist if ya wanna get this move right” Harry scolded softly as he twirled the blade in his hand

"Do you ever regret breaking up?" Alex asked his lead singer curiously.

"Bobby, you need to move to a B sharp at that next note" Luke advised carefully, he had listened carefully at the music and spotted the one thing that had been bugging him.
