Hall: What’s a word that’s a mix between “sad” and “mad”?
Sidony: Disgruntled, miserable, desolated-
Zither: Smad.
Sidony: Once this is over, the spymaster promised to let me look at her library.
Cillian: I suppose your love of books is your one redeeming feature.
@chantdeath said: if there is one thing she's learned during her travels, it's that one never overlooks an opportunity to catch a few minutes of sleep. they've paused at another camp, and the sun beating down upon the sands of the western approach warms her right down to her bones. she leans back, hands behind her head, upon a rock that nearly looks like a chaise - there's the sound of movement to her left, and she squints open one eye and catches sight of the inquisitor. "don't tell me we're already leaving again. i was just getting comfortable."
Comfortable? How was anyone comfortable in this sweltering heat? Kaaras thought that his very veins were running with sand right now. He’d never felt so sluggish, so dry to the core. He wasn’t made for this kind of environment--a man who had grown up in the cold of Ferelden, snow covered fields once winter hit, and white as far as the eye could see.
The sand was relentless. It was everywhere, including places it wasn’t meant to be. Kaaras had to keep telling himself that the sand would go away eventually when he bathed, but it was sending him mental. He also had to remind himself to savour his water and not chug it all at once, no matter how tempting it was.
His skin felt cracked, his hands dry, dust and sand coating clothes and steel alike.
“I was hoping we’d find some kind of oasis out here. Shelter, water...” He looked around, and it spanned to the end of the world it seemed. Just sand. Sandy hills in every direction. He brushed his hair, sand falling out of it which caused a grimace to cross sharp, qunari features.
“There are few things I truly hate in this world, but sand is one of them.”
