4. songs that got me into vocaloid

kagerou days (and specifically the fan PV by wannyanpu) is the song that got me obsessed with the storytelling potential of vocaloid as a whole.

other songs that informed my early vocaloid days: tokyo teddy bear by neru and ievan polkka (the otomania miku ver. was the first vocaloid song i ever heard). i also loved little cry of the abyss by Sasakure.uk, which i didn't know was by a vocaloid producer.

the lyrics combined with the visuals are just a perfect storm of listless depression and an agonizing cry for help.

speaking of kagepro, another one of the project songs that i love both for the song and the amazing video. seriously, the way the rhythm matches up with the animation is so addicting.

Funny Insipid Candy Vendor by Nilfruits (illus. Yasutatsu)

what more can i say? favorite producer + favorite illustrator = man i love this video. the details are everything and i get more from each rewatch. plus, you gotta love how vivid and stylized the illustrations are for this song about AI art and commodification.
