for Sigyn appreciation week day 3 : favourite artwork

a person who messaged me asking if they could borrow one of my Sigyn designs for inspiration to commission an artist on instagram to complete a piece for a fanfic of theirs , this is the finished product they sent me

inspired me to use Chel as a body skeleton and Rapunzel concept art for head to make Sigyn ^^✨

MCU Sigyn costume design concept

i made it so it would fit loki’s mcu costume combo, making her design recognisable enough for you to connect the designs but still distinguishable enough to be her own thing. 1 of those is making her colour pallet blue and/or yellow instead of green & yellow, witch are Loki’s mane colours

the nordic design/pattern is represented in turtleneck, waist cloth & fur. with the rest of the patterns looking more like how MCU costume artist design alien clothing

for skeleton i used Glen Keane's Rapunzel sketch design for tangled

redesign on Sigyn’s comic book outfit

👖: i played with the idea of the side thigh slit dress & it left a lot of open space oh her legs so i gave her long straps that connect to her shoes

🤍📿: her pearl jewellery is made more bold, making her look more sophisticated, i want her to be more decorated to give a more sense to the fact that she is the princess to a royal prince💅🏻

👸🏼: her head piece has been given more air for her head to breathe in & let her hair be more free, it also has the same patterns as her cape & gem from belt, it bonds the elements of the dress together

👗: overall her outfit is more strict, not so loose, and provides a better space to walk in

her cape has now more structure & is inspired by Friggas dress in Thor 1 https://pin.it/4c2ke9U

May 26, 2020 - In which Frigga’s design is finalized; by Charlie Wen.

& here her golden chest armour is now a soft top made out of the same fabrics as her skirt, i want this to be her “regal but comfy” outfit

💁🏼‍♀️ : good hair was looked highly upon in viking ages, especially if it was long and healthy , thus enforcing the need to be more hygienic, cleaning and brushing it, so if it looked well and was long ,you would carry it with pride, i would not be surprised that this beauty standard was carried into Asgard’s culture , as u can see in the films , many asgardians maintain long hair, thus i want her to be more open with it, as a sign of good health (and healthy genes) + giving her braids to play more upon her nordic heritage
