“Oh my Gods.”
“What?”
“Oh. My Gods.”
Time has stripped the photograph between your fingers of its glossy sheen and has left the edges blunt and frayed, but you would recognise those features anywhere; no less sharp nor striking through the faded sepia.
“This is you.”
Kiss Me More. pt 2:
silco x f!reader - 1.8k words - SFW
series summary: “Whatever, all I’m saying is, I can teach you how to kiss,” Silco insists, before adding just a little too nonchalantly, “You know, if you want to.”
cw: first dates, jealous silco, silco is a little shit, silco causing problems on purpose, mild angst, mild sexual references, fluff, friends to lovers, young silco
PART 1 | PART 3 | PART 4
-
One agonising, excruciatingly long week later and neither you nor Silco have mentioned the kiss again. In fact, Silco has been so weird, (well, weirder than he normally is anyhow) that you’re genuinely starting to worry you accidentally damaged some of his brain cells when you pulled on his hair.
He holds himself all weirdly now, like he’s forgotten how sitting or standing works. And he stares and stares and stares at you, and then scowls when you look back or ask him what’s wrong.
You even catch him just standing staring at your bedroom door one day, smack bang in the middle of the corridor, but when you question what he’s doing he just grunts at you and slams into his own bedroom, the tips of his ears flushed crimson.
This, frankly unhinged, behaviour continues right up until you’re leaving for your date with Seven.

The faint, familiar sound of a certain song echoed throughout The Last Drop, the stillness of the room having shifted into a more light-hearted one with the music that was now playing.
There was a small laugh from Vander, who had been cleaning up the bar, a small shake of his head once he had realised what song was playing, again. Silco didn't have much of a reaction, apart from the subtle uplift of his lips, however, it had mostly been hidden from the fact that he was looking down at his notebook. Whereas, you had become so fond of the song that you couldn't help but leisurely swing your head side to side.
The blue haired woman was standing over at the jukebox, freely swaying her body in tune with the music. Her movements were both carefree and (almost) elegant, it could've looked like Felicia was attempting to replicate more of the sophisticated dancing in Topside, but the three of you knew she was just going with whatever she came up with in the moment.
A soft hum alongside the music blended in soon enough, Silco's eyes glancing up and over at you, who was mindlessly nodding your head along to the music - lost in your own world, no doubt.
A doting smile pulled on the man's lips, Vander noticing from his place behind the bar, as he looked over at your relaxed figure. He couldn't help it, he swore, you looked so untroubled in that mind, like the place the four of you called home wasn't such a shit-hole, like there was actually good in this hell.
The way your eyes sometimes shut when you got to a certain part in the song, or when you messed up your whole body would still until you could continue and get it right, that was when his heart was flutter in his chest.
The moment didn't last long, however, he heard the faint, amused breath from Vander, which quickly caused Silco to shake his head and keep his gaze down at his notebook in front of him, shaking his pen in his hand as if he was thinking about what he was writing.

A small pile of dwindling documents starts to leave your desk, clearing up the clutter from invoices and inventory stocks from todays shipments. It's been at least four hours of back to back couriers from different distributors throughout the undercity; shimmer, metals, minerals, fabrics, even food.
After zoning back into your scrawling, you hear the burst of doors behind you, the courier of a glass company almost sprinting through the doors and bounding down the stairs, the speed of his hasty movements causes a disruption of free flying papers from your organized desk. With a sigh, you stand and collect the trail of paperwork, facing them all the correct way when you see the distinct writing of Silco on a parchment. His signature red pen outlining a section of contract that was for the company said courier represents, you wonder a moment why the sudden departure but realize you better keep to your own work.
Heading back for your desk, you see Silco's office door open and walk to go close it, a simple gesture that usually gave you a moment to steal a glance at your respectively handsome boss. A subtle glow from the green window giving an overcast to the already ominous atmosphere, a heavy ambience of frustration and vexation highlighted by the normal emerald green is now turned sickly with ire.
Quietly closing the door, a hinge creak alerts Silco to look up, observing you in his doorway, a lithe finger crooks and beckons you inside for a private conversation. Following suit, you shut the door behind you, stepping to the front of his desk as he finishes his reading. Head raising to you, he spots the papers under your arm.
"All from today?" A tired inquiry leaves his mouth prompting a nod of your head in response as you hand him the small stack. After reviewing the work completed from you, he rises to his feet.
"It seems I have some more business to attend if these reports are correct." His voice laced with annoyance, looking to see which one he was referring to, you spot the Shimmer inventory opened on his desk.
"Would you like me to call for Sevika?" The words trail off when you see him pull out his beautiful leather gloves he keeps stashed in the top drawer, those same ones you had brought to the dry cleaners after his last outing where they gained some specks of dried blood from an unruly client.
"No, I only need a scribe."
Holding out the maroon gloves, you take them from his grip as he raises his hand with fingers slightly parted, indicating his readiness. With a small swallow, you take his glove and slowly slide it from his fingertips down to his palm, breathing lightly as if to not disturb the intimacy being shared between you and the man requesting to be outfitted. Not realizing your eyes fell half lidded, you meet your full gaze to Silco's, his expression hard as usual but with a furrow to his brow.
"Need anything else sir?" Quickly bringing your hands to your sides, unaware the lingering proximity they were just residing.
"No, is there something you need?" An emphasis on you as though it was a demand, not a question.
"I'm not sure what you mean, sir." Averting your eyes from his, you hide your reddening cheeks as best you can.
"Of course not." Retorting as he holds up his other hand. As efficiently as you can muster, you slide the glove over his mix of calloused and smooth skin, years of field work attempted to be sloughed off with self care left an uneven canvas of flesh, but it was comfortable to brush against with the palms of your hands regardless as the glove reaches his wrist. As you start to retreat your hands, he grabs one with gloved fingers, a light but firm clutch.
"Should you need something, I am always one for reciprocation."

Another morning, you wake up in his bed. The desaturated shine of the sun slips through the tinted window of his quarters, the covers rustling slightly as you slowly gain full awareness of your surroundings. That's when your ears start to process the recognizable low, soft humming and the melodic sounds of the radio-gramophone from the other side of the room.
