Book of the Week, Spoiler Free Review of Silence Fallen By Patricia Briggs This is Book 10 of the Mercy Thompson series. Attacked and abducted in her home territory, Mercy finds herself in the clutches of the most powerful vampire in the world, taken as a weapon to use against Alpha werewolf Adam and the ruler of the Tri-Cities vampires. In coyote form, Mercy escapes -- only to find herself without money, without clothing, and alone in a foreign country. Unable to contact Adam through their mate bond, Mercy has allies to find and enemies to fight, and she needs to figure out which is which. Ancient powers stir, and Mercy must be her agile best to avoid causing a war between vampires and werewolves, and between werewolves and werewolves. In the heart of the city of Prague, old ghosts rise ... I've been a Mercy fan since the first book Moon Called, and have yet to be disappointed in any of the series. Each book is a whirlwind adventure that leaves your brain scrambling to keep up with conspiracies, characters and what sort of trouble Mercy will find this time. I really appreciate the style in which Patricia Briggs writes Mercy, Adam and the mate bond between them. Even in this story, where they're torn apart by magic and miles, she still gives you the moments you long for with your favourite couple. I've rooted for them since the beginning and love reading their moments of happiness between the adversaries they fight together. The one tiny thing I didn't love about this book was the back and forth timeline. Patricia discusses this, in a note at the beginning of the book, so please pay attention to the chapter headings. The changing of perspectives and timelines is confusing at first, you adapt as your sucked into the story tho, so fear not and read on. The way that Patricia Briggs has written her world of werewolves, vampires and more, has created one of my go to series of the Urban Fantasy genre. Between this series and her similar Alpha and Omega series, Patricia Briggs will stay on my auto buy author list for all time. I read this book in one sitting, woke up with the book hangover to end all book hangovers and have not a single regret. If you have any interest in this genre at all, I recommend Patricia Briggs and the Mercy Thompson series. I give this book 4 1/2 ⭐️
