«Sílent Circle» (рус. Тихий круг) — немецкая поп-группа, образованная в 1985 году школьными друзьями вокалистом Мартином Тихсеном, клавишником Акселем Брайтунгом, барабанщиком и гитаристом Юргеном Беренсом. Известна своей песней "Touch In The Night". Участники группы основали коллектив и впервые выступили в 1979 году, но после этого их пути разошлись. И лишь в 1985 году группа воссоединилась, чтобы записать дебютный альбом.  Первым альбомом группы стала пластинка «No. 1», выпущенная в 1986 году. Вслед за дебютным сингломгруппы — «Hide Away — Man Is Comin'!» — ещё восемь песен из альбома были выпущены синглами. Среди них наибольшую популярность получили «Touch In The Night» и «Stop The Rain In The Night». Вскоре после выхода альбома к группе присоединился Харальд Шефер, который заменял Брайтунга во время публичных выступлений, а Брайтунг полностью посвятил себя написанию новых песен.  В 1987 группу покидает и Юрген Беренс. В 1989 его место занимает Аксель Брайтунг.  В период с 1987 по 1993 годы группа поменяла три лейбла, выпустила четыре сингла и два сборника своих лучших песен (один из них был выпущен первым лейблом неофициально). В 1993 году «Silent Circle» выпустили сингл «2Night», а в 1994 году появился второй студийный альбом «Back!». BLACK PHONE

Na al de berichtgeving rond hackers die grote databases en andere servers kraken om gevoelige informatie van mensen te kunnen bezitten brengt de Blackphone een oplossing! De smartphone is ontworpen om jouw persoonsgegevens te beschermen zodat er geen enkele hacker aan je contactenlijst of cloud kan.

Dit wordt mogelijk gemaakt door 4 onderdelen die alles samen een waterdichte smartphone moeten creëren.

Vooreerst is er een bijgewerkte versie van Android. Hieruit is al het afluistergedrag van onder andere Google verwijderd en is er ook een uitgebreid systeem om apps de toegang te weigeren tot je gegevens.

De Silent Circle zal op zijn beurt zorgen voor een versleuteld telefoon- en sms-verkeer, zodat het niet langer mogelijk is telefoons af te tappen of gevoelige sms-berichten te onderscheppen. Ook voegt men aan de contactenlijst een extra beveiliging toe zodat het niet langer mogelijk is de contacten uit je lijst te kopiëren en vervolgens te misbruiken.

Ten derde is er de Disconnect Secure Wireless, die trackers buiten houden die proberen gegevens te verzamelen uit jouw gedrag voor het samenstellen van advertenties speciaal op jouw maat gemaakt.

Het laatste is misschien wel het belangrijkste onderdeel van deze smartphone, de Spideroak is een veilig Cloudopslagsysteem waar je bestanden versleuteld worden opgeslagen zodat deze ook weer niet kunnen misbruikt of gehackt worden.

Misschien kan Apple nog een paar dingen leren van deze Cloud?

Silent Circle and Lavabit launch “Dark Mail Alliance” to thwart e-mail spying. The new protocol will be based on Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol, or XMPP, and it's set to be released in mid-2014. The group will ditch the old protocol, SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol), which is used for almost every bit of e-mail on the Internet. “This is just another transport—what we’re getting rid of is SMTP,” said Jon Callas, the CTO at Silent Circle. “We like to laugh at it, but there are reasons why it was a good system.
