Aster, Bee balm (:D?), Zinnia
Aster: What’s one of your favorite quotes?
Let’s go with the one I got my username from:
“All witches are selfish, the Queen had said. But Tiffany’s Third Thoughts said: Then turn selfishness into a weapon! Make all things yours! Make other lives and dreams and hopes yours! Protect them! Save them! Bring them into the sheepfold! Walk the gale for them! Keep away the wolf! My dreams! My brother! My family! My land! My world! How dare you try to take these things, because they are mine!
I have a duty!” ― Terry Pratchett, The Wee Free Men
Beebalm: Do you have a best friend? Who is it?
Definitely not you, you big nerd. ;D
Zinnia: Give a random fact about yourself.
I can whistle whole tunes through my teeth, whilst smiling!

Also A Weekend in the Country. And/or A Little Night Music generally. ;)
Charlotte! Charlotte! Charlotte! A Weekend in the Country may be SLIGHTLY spoiled for me now, you horror. ;D
My feelings on A Little Night Music generally are mixed. I like quite a few of the songs but I can take or leave the story, and it wouldn’t be my first pick if I could go see a musical. My favourite song is probably Every Day a Little Death, though, it’s perfect.

How do you think Ada and Hecate got together? Is general headcanons too vague?
Oh man at some point I am going to write a fic about it but my general idea is this:
* Hecate started at Cackle’s as a new teacher after qualifying, so she would have been in her early twenties or so. Ada was teaching there at the time too (and Agatha was around in some capacity), but their mother was still headmistress. Ada would have been in her early thirties I guess, if the ages of the actresses match the characters (Mists of Time implies they do.)
* It wasn’t the easiest of adjustments for Hecate - she didn’t immediately fit in with the other teachers and she struggled a bit to find her place at the school. Ada kind of took her under her wing and they became friends and realised they actually had a ton in common.
* It was a few years after that they actually got together - possibly it was around the time Ada became headmistress. Up until that point it had more often been Ada giving Hecate advice, and although they were friends there was a definite hierarchy to their relationship, but ironically when Ada stepped up to run the school and officially became Hecate’s boss, she began to rely more on her support and it kind of tipped the power balance to a more equal place? And they already loved and admired each other and after that it all just kind of happened, in a way that seemed sudden at the time but was in hindsight very gradual and natural.
Ask me Worst Witch things.
Do you have any Hecate’s childhood or pre-Cackle’s headcanons? Also, would you write or read AUs for them and if so, what? Also, do you think Hecate and Ada want children of their own or is an entire school enough? ;)
I’m still not 100% sure what I think about Hecate’s childhood. The BBC Meet the Teachers page (here if you haven’t seen it yet: http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/mediapacks/worstwitch/teachers) says only that her upbringing was “austere”. We get the impression from Spelling Bee that she perhaps wasn’t the most popular kid at school. I think she was probably raised by an older family member who instilled in her a deep respect for discipline and tradition, but it was a quiet and ordered environment that didn’t 100% prepare her for the modern witching world. I don’t think it was necessary an unkind environment or a totally unhappy childhood, though? I also think she had at least one inspirational teacher who nurtured her love for potions and was a big part of her decision to become a teacher herself.
I’m not sure I’d write an AU for them - I find that in order to be comfortable writing even a canon-divergent AU I have to be very familiar with all the corners of the canon so that I feel ok deviating from it (hence why I write AUs for Star Trek but practically never in other fandoms!). If I was the kind of person to write AUs though, hmm... maybe a Celtic Britain AU in which Ada is a warrior queen and Hecate is her trusted general and lover. (That’s a free idea if anyone wants it!)
I’m really torn about whether or not they should have kids - it’d be a shame for the Cackle line to stop with Ada (and Agatha), but also Ada and Hecate have so much on their plates already running the school. I do wonder if they’d do something like the Japanese system of adult adoption in which you choose your successor and then make them officially part of your family. Like maybe if there was a pupil (or younger teacher) who they could see running the school in the future, there’s some sort of witching ceremony they could do to make them an honorary Cackle. (Of the kids at the school currently, I could see this being Mildred in 20 years or so, or maybe Beatrice.)
(Honestly I think they might do this even if they DID have kids - I don’t think Ada would want to put a kid through the pressure of knowing they had no choice but to to someday take over the school. Although I guess it would depend whether any kids counted as part of Ada’s line or Hecate’s - matrilineal descent gets more complicated with two mothers!)

@cosmic-llin context pls? :D?
So, Deanna’s trapped in this shuttle but she can sense that her friends are outside trying to rescue her. This is the first time she’s been able to communicate with them. The heartbreaking part is that she already knows Tasha’s been killed (yup it’s that episode) because she felt it happen, but Beverly doesn’t know whether she knows and the blu blu blu sink monster (his name is Armus) is listening to everything they’re saying for clues to manipulate them.
