I love vague labels that make people go "but that's confusing" or "but that could mean anything" Good. Keep guessing lol

Campaign 4 Character Reactions
Thought it would be interesting to track my vague interest in characters as we go through the prologue. First episode is really just who went for a big swing.
Completely Neutral: Halandil and Azune (Sad bois, patent pending); Teor (furry Travis); Vaelus (loving the concept, no real feeling yet)
Eyebrow Raised: Kattigan (I mean, got personality that's for sure); Occtis (I like Alex's preference for very flawed characters); Bolaire (Taliesin's normal weird, but I'm listening); Murray (Big tiddy dwarf with the drawl? yeah, I'm in)
I'm Paying Attention: Thaisa (Mom, of course, but I think I'm mostly reacting to getting some great Aabria time); Thimble (Not enough time, but Laura Motherfuckin' Bailey, folks); Julien (Got to love just going hard into antagonism)
You Won Me Over: Wicander and Tyranny as a pair only. No feedback.
Bonus: Aranessa (in love)
Favorite Quote: "I just got put in my place and the basement is flooded."

Ever bright, ever right. Ever bright, ever right.
The characters of C4 were created using a modified stat roll (5d6, drop the lowest two) so they could be best at what they were really aiming for with their build. The difficulty will scale alongside it.
Saw the "Sam isn't playing a cleric. It's a trick!" and rolled my eyes. Because you know what else is very Sam? Choosing to play the absolute worst build for the setting.
And then I saw a posting arguing that he's secretly an Illrigger with allegiance to a devil and .... How bout this? Wicander 100% believes he's a cleric, but his fucking house actually made a pact with an arch devil and they are all Illriggers. He's just the only one naive enough to believe the story.
I’m reading The Deviants War: The Homosexual vs The United States of America and the entire point of gay pride as a concept comes from police raids on bars, clubs, public restrooms, etc where gays were humiliated and outed in the newspapers (sometimes with their addresses!) and had careers ruined and lives upended by being associated with perversion and vice squads and all that and they responded by going “no I’m proud” and took that pride to the streets in defiance of the huge mechanism of shame that existed to oppress the gay community into obscurity and so the fact that people are now trying to apply conservative dogma to pride parades to make them “safe for children” or in other words “safe for people with oppressive conservative values” is simply insane
To phrase this more clearly: “public indecency” laws were the primary tool for brutally enforcing gender and sexual conformity, so applying a “public indecency” lens to pride parades of all things is a slap in the face of everyone who ever suffered under gender & sexual oppression and took their anger (and yes their pride!) to the streets. If it makes you uneasy or uncomfortable maybe you’re not on the side you think you are!

Okay, is there something going on in the Critical Role fandom that just made my short Keyleth/Grog smut fic spike in views? It's in my top five fics now and I'm confused.
9 months later I still have no idea
with love. you have to fact check shit. yes you. you still have to fact check shit. a lot of people are great at fact checking stuff they don’t want to be true, but somehow are still absolute ass at fact checking stuff that’s rhetorically convenient to them. even people my age, who I KNOW grew up doing internet/bibliography literacy workshops, and being warned not to believe anything that isn’t reliably sourced, people who DO harp on fact checking conservative output or whatever, are still kneejerk sharing unsourced shit that is partially or wholly untrue or misleading, because it suits whatever narrative they’re pursuing in that moment, without even a “take this with a grain of salt”. fact check!!!!!! look at the sources!!!!! yes it’s a drag!!! do it!!!!!
It should be noted that he was not the first queer activist in Germany: that was Karl Heinz Ulrichs, who publicly advocated for decriminalisation of homosexuality in 1867. This is not to take away Hirschfeld’s achievements - far from it. It’s a reminder that our history goes a lot further back than people think, despite attempts to erase this history.
The Nazis burned copies of the film, but 50 minutes of footage survived and can be viewed!
Endlessly diabolical how you can't say words like rape and suicide uncensored without either being criticised by idiots or punished by conglomerates.
It's not r*pe, it's rape. It's not su*cide, it's suicide. Not unalive, dead. The backbone needs to be reintroduced en masse because softening the blow of these concepts with advertising language does absolutely nothing but allow people unaffected by them to feel not even a sting of what they can do, prompting inaction.
And it's been proven that on certain websites, you don't even face a repercussion for using the words as they are. People just started censoring themselves because they feared the potential lack of views and likes and followers which is so nasty itself.
I attended an anti-suicide seminar in college. One of the big takeaways from it was that stigmatizing suicide increases the rate of suicide, because people who are feeling suicidal feel like they can't ask for help. Every time I see babytalk garbage like 'unalive', I think of that.
Use the real words. Words have power, and they matter.
I just realized I have never, in my decade on here, clicked Explore.
Anyway, five posts in I see I was right to never click. Back to Following I go.
