Watercolor, ink, acrylic, colored pencil.  And hopefully you can click on this and see /read the full version?  It’s a 2 pg  flashback scene taking place in the 1980s.

Funfact 1:  I used to have reoccurring dreams of the “Green Restaurant” as a small child, no, I don’t know why, it didn’t actually exist, something I dreamed about not eating in, but wandering around in.

Funfact 2:  I had an overly vivid imagination as a child and really thought witches were out to capture me, told my mom so when I was 5 or 6 and she told me to “stop being sarcastic” and I had no idea what she meant because I didn’t know what that word meant when I was only knee-high and honestly, if your kid has weird kid fears, just reassure them?  Because I’m in my 30s now and that still sticks out in my mind, what a baffling thing to say... “sarcastic” to a lil kid afraid of witches.

[MY ART]  I’ve been spending most of my free time working on DrawBlood again, my original horror/modern-fantasy/romance comic (that I haven’t worked on in a few years, oops).  Based on stories I wrote and rewrote and rewrote since I was a teenager in the 90s, and still set in the 90s in a Northeast USA mountain town (which state is left vague on purpose, it’s up to the reader).  Here’s a sample page of the inks of page 4 of part 4.

I left the story in Autumn of 1997 with Shena (the girl) kidnapped by the mutant vampires, so the first 10 pages is her escape.  Look for colored pages to start being posted sometime in August of 2019 on my deviantart page.

I know that feel. I've been asked to design tattoos almost a dozen times and its so hard to get people to pay the money. And then after they finally pay me after months THEY NEVER GET THE TATTOO.

Or they make it clear they never intended to pay in the first place - dude legit told me he wasn’t going to pay it if it was $100+ and I’m like “adjusting for your shoulders, I’d literally be doing a 13x19+ canvas, something I’d consider $100 more than an appropriate starting price for materials alone” and he looked at me like I’d spoken in Farsi.

Ugh, just... ugh... that feel.

it’s Indigo, from The Outsiders, very much a DC character, not Mystique. A robot girl.

thanks, while I was being mostly facetious calling her mystique, I’m not super familiar with indigo, so I was curious who that was

more Vampire stuff (warning: blood).  See, she’s ok.  Dizzy, but ok.

“You carry Band-Aids?”  “Yeah.  I’m not a total jerk.  I think”  “You’re not a very scary vampire, are you?”  “Nah.”

Steller is not a villain.  But not a hero either.  He’s just a guy.  Who’s also a vampire.  That makes poor life decisions and has bad habits.  I invented him when I was young and was tired of all the fancy vampires and horror movies vampires and wanted a vampire who was just a scruffy slightly chubby dude, kind of a loser.  And uncool guy with a cool name (Steller Dark).  I love my loser vampire.  No one should emulate him but I love him as a character.

Vampire stuff.  (don’t worry too much, she’ll be ok).  The most important line here is “Blaire and I are both terrible people, but terrible in different ways”  (he knows he’s being terrible) (I, the author, also know he’s being terrible).  This is why I wanted to wait until I had this whole story arc done to post it all at once, Amy was only siding with Steller’s “nice guy” act because Blaire gave her the job but she needed his approval too.

My headcanon is that Nat isn't on Tony's side because of Tony, she's actually on Pepper's side, because she was friends with Pepper before she was friends with Steve.

My thing with Nat (and ink-phoenix and I were talking about this one the phone the other day) is that she’s shortchanged in pretty much every film ever. Even though she’s not a love interest in TWS and yes, she does have some amazing moments of her own, she is still very much there to support Steve’s story, which is why the idea of her siding with Steve (or Tony via Pepper) irks me as it currently stands. It’s that it once again sets her on a path that is defined by her relationship to someone else and what she can do for them, not because it is a decision we have seen her come to on her own.

The other Avengers are a little different, but Nat is the one character who has spent a significant time with both Steve and Tony and who you could legitimately argue might go either way on the topic for her own personal reasons,. But we haven’t had enough character development from her for any choice she makes to be 100% about her and not just which teammate she is siding with or against.

Tell me she’s siding for the legislation because she’s been betrayed by the system she thought was fighting for good and she wants to see a greater level of accountability in place because yes, the likes of SHIELD will always be necessary but they NEED to have controls in place.

Tell me she’s siding against it because she’s been betrayed by the system she thought was fighting for good and she doesn’t trust any governing body to act without some level of corruption and she’s done being used by people.

Tell me something, and then show it to me. Don’t just say ‘she’s on Tony’s side’ or ‘she’s on Cap’s side’ because that’s just a cop out and I am sick and tired of seeing her be used as a prop with lines when she is so much more.

I ranted, I apologize. Please don’t think I am aiming this at you personally!
