Solar the Cathog is a hybrid of a hedgehog and a cat, he is the Prince of the Sol Empire and the future Guardian of the Sol Emeralds. He has pale purple fur with lavender highlights along his arms, legs, ear tips, the bottom of his quills and around his eyes. His large ears are mostly hidden behind three styled head quills that are reminiscent of his father's silhouette. Solar has a thick mass of white chest fluff that spreads over his shoulders and down to his stomach, contrasting his darker tan muzzle, palms and soles of his feet. His back is lined with shark-like back spines and he has a long feline tail that trails behind him, tipped with white fluff. Solar's most striking feature is the lavender pattern etched across his back. It seems to resemble the Sun God, Solaris. The pattern frames two embedded deep blue gems that sit vertically on his spine. He also has two additional deep blue gems that rest vertically on his forehead, between fiery amber eyes that are always perpetually tired, often being shadowed by dark bags.
He has two forms, in his Solaris form his fur turns to an off-white cream, his lavender accents burn into a scorched cream. His ears vanish and are replaced by heavy, curled and armoured horns in a deep red-gradient. Influenced by Iblis, his body is encased in heavy-set armour that covers his limbs, hands, feet and back. His eyes and gemstones glow a deep amber. In this form, Solar can withstand and wield intense flames, though this only occurs when he lets Iblis' influence surface, choosing to take the name Solaris to separate himself from her. In his Burning form he is at his most dangerous and advanced power, this is because of the harnessing power of the Sol Emeralds. In this form it brings him great fear and thus he calls it the Phantom Flame, opting to never use it. His fur burns near-black, the lavender tones scorch into warm sienna, his muzzle and chest match the sienna colouration. The Solaris pattern on his back glows pure white, dull eyes and blue gemstones become crimson red. His chest fur, back quills, wrists, ankles and tail ignite with living red embers.
Solar wears royal blue regalia, tailored both for ceremonies and battles. Blue gloves and boots are tipped with cerulean, whilst baby blue star-patterns cover his middle and ring fingers as well as the vamps of his boots. White fluff trims are attached with golden rings that have blue accents striped in the middle. Solar wears a specialised crown, designed to accommodate his quills and emphasise his embedded gemstones. He also wears a cerulean off-the-shoulder cape, trimmed with blue accents. The cape is secured by a golden shoulder guard with golden chains.
Solar is laid-back, reserved and emotionally guarded. He often comes across as distant or unbothered, but beneath the surface he is deeply kind, gentle and loyal. Solar avoids confrontation as much as possible, opting to keep his struggles private. Though he appears unmotivated, he secretly yearns for recognition, not for power purposes but to prove that he isn't dangerous or a curse. Inheriting his father's powers and abilities, Solar often uses his psychokinesis for everyday tasks. He shares a body with Iblis the Flame and with that mixed with his mother's pyrokinesis, Solar has immense heat resistance.
Sharing a body with Iblis the Flame is a constant presence of whispers that prey on his fears. A prophecy once spoken by a member of his court, Phenex, said that Solar would never become the king he wished to be, with Iblis festering his mind and twisting the words spoken, she was able to manipulate him into causing the Sol Emeralds Incident.
He is the eldest son to Silver the Hedgehog and Queen Blaze the Cat. Disowning Silver at a young age, Solar has a deep hatred towards him and chooses to avoid him as much as possible, not sharing the hatred around his siblings for their sake. He loves his mother yet has a strained relationship with her due to her royal duties. Solar adores his younger siblings Flare and Eclipse, with a strong instinct to protect them. Solar's greatest source of grounding is his girlfriend, Roxanne. He loves her deeply and never hesitates to be himself around her. She is one of the few people who can calm him when Iblis’ voice grows too loud. Solar often feels disconnected from the world due to the Sol Kingdom’s hatred toward him, as well as feeling disconnected to his assigned court; he understands why he must have them, but wishes others could see him for who he is just like Roxanne does.
this guy is actually one of my oldest fankids, i just never gave him proper colors or a name, buuuuuuut now they have more of an important role and more of their own story, so i made this pretty quickly. he inherited silver’s psychokinesis and espio’s ability to camouflage, but after “the incident” he sucks balls at camouflage struggles with camouflage.
