The evergreen tree Acacia dealbata (blue wattle, mimosa, silver wattle) was filling the air with fragrance. The flowers are small, fluffy, yellow spheres borne in terminal clusters that can start flowering in late winter and early spring. This tree was growing in a sunny, sheltered location.

The air was full of the fragrance of the Acacia dealbata (blue wattle, mimosa, silver wattle) flowers that covered the plant in a cloud of yellow. This evergreen shrub or tree has to finely divided grey-green leaves which emerge with a purple flush. The plant requires a neutral to acid well-drained soil in sheltered location with full sun.

I had these Wattles videoed as I drove back from Taree and then stopped to get some better shots. Firstly the silver wattle was everywhere (Acacia dealbata), also called blue wattle or mimosa (not that mimosa), these wattles are in the legume family and are native to southeastern Australia in New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, and the Australian Capital Territory and widely introduced in Mediterranean, warm temperate, and highland tropical landscapes. Secondly another Acacia, a dear little one with almost white flowers.
